FX's The Bridge

Didn't the son say something like "The last time this happened" during the episode? I can't recall.

Yeah he was saying something like " the last time this happened was with my mom".

I wonder why Childress said he was supposed to shoot Marco though, I'd imagine Tate wants him alive for his big finale.

That's what i was thinking. But it seems like he wants all those involved in his wife and sons death dead, so once Childress missed, he put plan 'B' into effect; he had already slept with Marco wife, so when Childress didn't kill Marco, Tate is now implementing his back up plan as he now has Marco's wife 'hooked'.

Yep, the current wife is his 2nd. Gus is from the previous marriage. A couple of episodes ago Gus had that conversation with the current wife about if he should find another place to live during the separation. She reassured him that he still had a home there. Not sure if this wife was the current at the time of the affair with Tate's wife. Gus recently hinted that an affair ended the first marriage. Tate's wife maybe? Idk.

marco is not really the brightest cop, is he? shouldnt he realize by now that the guy is targeting him? shouldnt he call his wife or son? damn..what an idiot...

Well, he only found out in this episode that this person he used to know wasn't dead.

the whole marriage of those two seems like a joke..

Well, to be fair, we don't really know too much about their relationship to know why they are still together or why Marco has been unfaithful in the past, etc.

And I get the sense you don't really like this show very much.

if he's referring to the shooter. remember Sonya only told Hank & mustache about it.

with all due repsect, but he founds out that the person he thought was dead, is still alive and that he is targeting him. the first thing to do is to check on family..

his wife is pregnant, loves him, but betrays him asap. what the f.uck?

i do like the show, but some things are just not making sense..

I though hooking up with Tate was just revenge sex on the wife's part, but it appears that she genuinely wants a long term relationship with him..that's what i find odd.......

I can't believe I actually called that one. I feel a sudden sense of accomplishment! :wow:

Take wins you can get them! :D

The thing is his planning has been meticulous, I'd have thought he'd want to show Marco that he'd doshed his missus and then killed her before killing Marco, just to rub it in.

the whole thing is odd. when he first kisses her, she looks like a bit freaked out/shocked...like someone who does not want something like this. then next episode, they jump into the bed. before that, we dont have any indication regarding a deeper connection...

Well, now we know how Tate was one step ahead of everyone. Stupid Gus. Gus said because of Tate's text he became closer with Marco. Either Tate is trying to live his father-son relationship through Gus and Marco or he's setting up for Gus's death to hit Marco even harder.

You'd think they would approach the sting a little better. The target is a former FBI agent. The old tricks would have not and did not work. And of all the places they covered they didn't bother to cover the cafe that's across the street from the fake Gus. Sloppy. They're making it easy for him.

Sonya: "MILF?"

Gus: "It's a Mom I..."

Sonya: "I know what it means. I don't have children."

:pal:

About Charlotte and the tunnel ordeal. That escalated quickly. :wow:

^^^ I loved that exchange between Sonya and Gus. :funny:

Marco's penis is pretty much to blame for everything.

Intense stuff with Alma and her little girls, scary thing is that Tate was willing to kill them as he had no way of knowing how long Alma could keep a grip on the grenade.

The texting sting was incredibly lame, I know they didn't have much time but it was amateurish.

As Sonya drove Gus to the safe house I was expecting Tate to pop up for the kidnap, It'll be interesting to see what his actual end game is.

Cesar stepped up like a boss. I'm guessing that arc and Linder's creepy story will bleed into season 2. I'm also thinking that Sonya and Marco may reopen the case of "The Beast" and try to find out who is killing the girls of Warez.

****, Matthew Lillard better not be dead. I really love his character and would like to see him continue to grow in season 2.

^ I hope he isn't. I think he's set up to be the one they find alive instead of Gus.

How many episodes are left? I keep thinking the next one is the finale and then there is always one more... :p

I thought poor Sonya was gonna collapse from her injuries. :( My guess is she finds something in the files that leads to the rescue of Gus but things may not end well for Marco.

A couple of things I didn't quite catch; How did Lillard's character find out Tate was behind everything? and who was the person Marco was surprised to find out Tate had killed when they finally met face to face?

Charlotte's true colours came through once she found out she has no money coming from the will, I mean you need ice water in the veins to execute a Federal informant. I think she'll be a bigger player in season 2.

Wow. Was not expecting that.

I'm honestly shocked that they killed Gus. I didn't think they would go through with it. And it's not even the season finale, which it totally felt like. What else could be coming down the pipe? I wonder if there's more to Tate's endgame than what he let on. Cause right now it kind of boils down to Joker's whole "I'm gonna push you to the edge and make you crazy" scheme. I want to see him have one last big moment.

Aw, poor Gus. So damn close. That thing was still filling up while they were in the kitchen. I thought he would be able to hold out a little bit after it filled. Just long along for Sonya to find him alive.

With two episodes left, I don't think that's last of Tate. The smirk he gives Hank in the preview definitely hints at it.

Felt bad for Sonya when Marco told her they weren't friends. That killed Sonya.

That ep felt like the season finale. I was surprised that there are two more eps.

I thought it was a finale as well.

Same here. I was surprised when they said "stay tuned for next week's episode".

She gets a lot of flak for her performance online but I thought Diane was really, really good in the last episode especially in that part where she was comforting Marco.

Pretty good "aftermath" episode. It's a little weird that the show is still going since most shows tend to end with big moments, this one seems to be setting up the premise of season two.

Marcos' "Why are you still sleeping? My son is dead!" rant was heartbreaking. Demian Bichir is a fantastic actor.

Strong performance by Demian Bichir last night. He looked defeated and simply didn't give a ****. With the missing girl case I think he's had enough and finally sticks it to his captain and all the corruption. Cause he just don't give a ****.

Looks like the female reporter's younger sister works at the same factory as the girl who went missing. Whoever this new manager is that she spoke of that everyone likes might be "the beast."

My interest in this show has waned over time. I just don't know if I care enough about any of the characters.

Yeah, it seemed like he was biting his tongue since he was a family man. Now that that's all gone, there's nothing for him to lose. Previews definitely make him out to be a loose cannon now.
