Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 1

I don't see Mojo really working onscreen at this point of the X-Movies.

I would kill for a Shi'Ar/Lilandra story with a mix of Asteroid M.

I feel as though Mojo was off limits since the inception of Singer's take on the X- men. He wouldn't fit a normal X-men movie. I think an X-men movie with him as the villain would have to have a tone as a film like how Deadpool is as a character. It would need to be zany and off the wall imo. Maybe as a stand alone spin-off or as part of a tv series.

Similarly I think going into space, doing a Shiar or Corsair story etc would be incredibly difficult for the movies, but maybe Apocalypse can up the game and introduce elements without it feeling forced or hokey.

Genosha is on the top of my list of things I want to see.

I wouldn't mind somewhere like Genosha being worked into future X-men movies.

I do too, but I'm not sure about having it for a Gambit movie.

The ideal would be making a Magneto solo film and having it there. Maybe if they do that, they won't be tempted to make Magneto the villain of every single damn X-Men film that follows.

I think Fox ideas of entertaining a Magneto spin-off ended with the birth of First Class. Though if they were looking to do a Fassbender solo I may give it a chance depending on the story.

If Mister Sinister is in this, how would people feel if he were played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan?

Kevin Bacon could have made a great Mr. Sinister. But, they had him play Sebastian Shaw instead.

My hope is they'll move gradually less grounded. The Starjammers is the priority, though. Mojo is genuinely terrifying in the comics (something I'd not given credit to until recently) and I have no problem with a Longshot spinoff, but they can't go zero to 100 right away. Bring in space first and then see what happens.

Hamm should be Cable, if anything, I'd want someone like Clive Owen to be Mr.Sinister.

Hi! I haven't seen any Channing movie yet, bus as far as I can see, he is a really cool guy with a lot of personality. So, I have the feeling he will be a great Gambit. Better than Taylor? I don't know yet. The thing with Taylor's Gambit wasn't him, but the lack of accent, the clothes, etc. Physically, I think Taylor looks more like Gambit. But I somehow trust Channing. Let's see.

Also, did they already start filming this?? if not, when????

Production is rumored (or maybe confirmed, I dunno) to begin in October. They're still casting right now.

I basically see that version of shaw as sinister anyway. He's lived decades or longer without aging, he's a scientist who studies and experiments on mutants in inhuman degrees. He's tied to a main characters orphan back story. Heck, his suits are navy with red accents if I remember correctly, and by the end he has a hole in his head the exact spot where comic sinister has his diamond. I remember before first class speculating that shaw would be reanimated in a sequel, and he would be pale white and partially withered from the time he spent as a corpse, and Kevin bacon would be the movie version of sinister for first class 2. Obviously days of future past wasn't that though lol.

When First Class came out, my knowledge of the X-Men was through the 90s cartoon. I remembered actually thinking Shaw was a movie adaptation of Mr. Sinister (I couldn't remember Nathaniel Essex's name and the Hellfire Club (or Inner Circle Club, as it was called in that show) didn't have much in common with the characters we saw). That's part of my argument that only really Magneto has been done justice, but I'm glad I'm not alone in subconsciously connecting Mr. Sinister wit Kevin Bacon (probably through Footloose or something).

Through footloose? Explain?

Kind of like how the Whiplash from Iron Man 2 was an amalgam of Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo I believe. However, given that this a whole new timeline, we could potentially have a Sinister with a history more in line to that of his comics. That is, a long and detailed history with Gambit and the Marauders as well as playing a role in the Assassins' Guild storyline backstory.

Honestly, though, I'm calling it, if Sinister is included, he'll be set up as a future villain. He'll probably be the guy who gets Gambit, who is out of New Orleans, back into the city and involved with the Assassins Guild. Eventually Gambit learns Sinister's true intentions, betrays him and leaves either with Bella Donna or a broken heart as Bella Donna is dead. Maybe they'll keep Sinister's true identity secret as well, until a twist reveal. As I've said, though, the twist would only mean much for comic fans because most of the general audience probably has never heard of Sinister aside from maybe the Deadpool game.

May I suggest Ethan Hawke for Mr. Sinister?

Eh, I enjoy some of his roles, but he's a bit too one-note for Sinister.

I kinda feel like they're gonna aim higher in terms of critically acclaimed actors for Sinister.

Johnny Depp would of course be perfect and might even consider it as he is obviously desperate for a career revival at the moment.

You obviously didn't see Mortici. Don't worry no one else did either or any of his last handful of films. So yes him doing yet another franchise sequel reeks of desperation to stay relevant.

Or maybe he just wanted a paycheck and vacation like he did with The Tourist.

Sure because having a slew of terrible films is great for his career. :whatever:

Someone is spinning, are you a part of his PR team?:o
