Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 1

If we're fan casting Sinister, even though I don't like the idea of including him here in a significant way, then I think they should cast someone like Jack Houston or Luke Evans. Someone around Fassbender's/McAvoy's age. Not grampa Sinister. Someone they could potentially use for the long term.

The whole "ooh Rogue should be in it" thing is completely tied to the comics. Because, in the films, they haven't shared ONE SECOND of screentime together, and are separated by about 40 years timeline-wise (unless Gambit is in the future now post-DOFP or something).

If Deadpool is set in the present... Gambit could very well be set in the present too.

And I just think if they managed to sneak in someone like Colossus in Deadpool's origin film. They surely could do the same thing to Gambit by including Rogue. And thats one cameo that would really excite the fans.

Rogue doesn't necessarily need a big role in the film, maybe just a small role, to tease Gambit's future in the series and that he might actually end up working with Rogue and the X-Men in the future.

They had him write it because he understands the character and would know how the character would logically fit in on his own, right? I understand how tying Rogue into the movie would work like they're doing Colossus for Deadpool, but it could also make a mess of things too, right? Plus, in Gambit's origin, Rogue isn't really present at all. It wouldn't make sense for her to be down in New Orleans during the Assassins Guild story whereas other elements like the Marauders and Sinister could fit in more easily, being an ex machina to start the story.

Also, she wasn't in the original Assassins Guild story so for those saying Gambit and Rogue should be together in the movie because of the comics. Well... if it is Assassins Guild, which makes the most sense, then if you want to follow the comics, no Rogue.

Using Deadpool as justification is kind of problematic. Because, while the Deadpool film is technically in the X-Men film-verse, it also is an unusual/special case. It's also going to be very "meta" from the looks of it (Wade already mocking Barakapool/Fox in the teaser for example).

By contrast, I feel like Gambit will likely be more "conventional." So "conventional" rules apply more. Plus, it seems like Belladonna Bordeaux will be the main female in this movie.

If they can recast Gambit, they could recast Rogue, right? As a Rogue-Gambit fan, of course I'd love to see them on screen. Allow me to dream one second: I would have loved Jennifer Lawrence to be Rogue. Yeah, she was like 10 years old when the first X-Men movie came out; yes, she is Mystique now. But I think she would have been a perfect Rogue.

I agree with and I can't believe I am saying this but... Sawyer...

Someone with the star power as Lawrence would be great for the character.

I've pictured that before. I think it would work. Translate the mother-daughter relationship literally and have Mystique mother Rogue and cast Lawrence. :P

And I also think Paquin could do her justice too, though.

Jennifer Lawrence could be a good Rogue... however Anna Paquin is still the Rogue of the new timeline. So she should be the one to portray Rogue if she's in the film.

Cudmore was also Colossus of the new timeline, and you see what happened with Deadpool. If they bring Rogue in the film I will be very happy, if they bring Anna Paquin I'll be extremely happy.

Cudmore declined the Deadpool offer thats why he's not there in the first place.

Lea has always been the best option for THIS part. I like Lee and Ferguson a lot, but Lea just fits this part better imo.

I'm kinda excited for the French cast!

I can kind of see them getting Vincent Cassel to be either Jean-Luc LeBeau or Sinister, though I'd look at Jean Dujardin for Jean-Luc personally. And Gaspard Ulliel for Julien Bordreaux.

I'm cool with that. Rebecca is awesome, but I think Lea is a better fit here.

Yes, Rebecca has to go be in a movie with Emily Blunt. That way, they can both size up their Captain Marvel competition. ;) It'd be hilarious if Charlize Theron ended up there as well.

Well Charlize and Emily are already costars in the prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman.

I'm kind of hoping that they do the whole "Belladonna's the leader of the Assassin's Guild" thing in this movie. It'd give her more to do beyond being merely a love interest.

Thank you!:woot:
Actually I hadn't seen it that way, but it makes a lot of sense.
If it's Anna Paquin, I won't be mad. I'd just like them to give Rogue more personality. But I guess this is a discussion as old as time, at this point, 15 years after the release of the first movie.

Bad example of comparison.
Since when we don't see Rogue's real face?
Colossus in 'Deadpool' is full CGI.
