aww, man. Tant pix ! j'avais hate de voir un x-film francophone.

Gambit defently won't be out next year.

If another director is hired i wonder if fox will push wolverine to june 2017 and give gambit march 2017.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fox wanted a smaller budget and Wyatt walked because of it.
The 150 million Tatum wanted wasn't realistic.

I think Wolverine will probably come out summer 2017 now, Gambit could be pushed further back in favor of a Deadpool sequel.

It remains to be seen how GA respond to Deadpool.still they would have to start immedetly to get deapool 2 out In 2017.

Wolverine is almost certinly getting the june release now.

Bleeding Cool is saying the crew was let go, too (which makes sense, but still...).

Yeah, I'm sticking with they should cancel this and focus their efforts elsewhere.

Me thinks that Fantastic Fail has made Fox afraid to sink a 150+ million into a Gambit movie.

Agreed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this whole project greenlit because Tatum said something in an interview about liking Gambit? And then Fox decided to throw $150 million towards Tatum's offhand comments, nearly double FFINO's original production budget?
I've had my doubts about this movie since the beginning, and I've seen nothing to make me second guess those initial trepidations.

You have to think that the performances of Magic Mike 2 and especially Jupiter Ascending is another thing for Fox to question. Tatum is not an action star yet, that is just the truth. His bread and better is comedy and romantic films, not action.

Maybe they should just throw Tatum as Gambit in the next big X-Men movie and make a spin off after he is already established. If the GA responds well to him, maybe this would evoke the interest of more directors.

Just to be clear, are we now supposing that the project is in trouble in it's entirety? I mean, WW changed directors too?

Marvel is doing that with Black Panther and WB are doing that with Wonder Woman, I think Fox should consider going that route.

To be honest I was never interested in a Gambit film. He's a cool character and all but deserving of his own 150 million dollar flick? Come on. I don't wanna sound naive and even if I do, I just think there's other properties Fox can spend that money on *cough*X-Force*cough*

I don't think the whole project is in trouble just because the director dropped out, the rumors of budget issues and it's start date being pushed back are big problems though. Fantastic Four anyone?

If Marvel could get Ant-Man back on track quickly then Fox can get Gambit back on track as well as long as they don't do the same stupid **** that they did when they made Fantastic Four.

This is a Fox/Marvel movie without Bryan Singers involvement, so it isn't crazy to assume that it'll be a disaster.

Fox also didn't land their first choice for the female lead (I've been hearing it was not Seydoux). This film just is not shaping up as planned. They should scrap it and put their efforts toward something that's a better fit.

Seydoux is a fantastic choice. Who did you hear was their first choice instead?

I've been hearing Rebecca Ferguson was their first choice.

I'm am very worried about Deadpool. Not so much from a quality standpoint, but from a BO standpoint. Studios are really afraid of making R Rated action movies anymore and a Deadpool film that disappoints at the box office will just strengthen their resolve. That would be a bad thing for all of us.

This movie is begging to be dumped, just screaming for it. Is Fox blind?

This is going to be a piece of steaming **** regardless of who makes it ?

Who wants to see this again?

Uh God. This isn't making it's October 2016 release date.

I've stated this several times. Either this or a DP sequel will take that 4stic sequel's spot. Provided Fox wants to tussle with a WWZ sequel/reboot/whateva.

I think the idea of a Gambit solo film could work as long as the budget doesn't get out of control and they try to make it into this big blockbuster that needs to do big blockbuster numbers to turn a profit. A smaller heist film or something like that would probably do well. Gambit isn't a character that should require a huge budget. Ant-Man was done for $130 million and that was far more effects intensive than Gambit needs to be.

Fox-Marvel always under performs in August. Why should things change now?
