Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 1

Yeah, though, introducing him in a Gambit film isn't above his level. He's not Apocalypse, which some people tend to forget. He wouldn't even be the villain, likely just somebody who spurs Gambit to get reinvolved with the Assassins' Guild.

he may not be apocalypse but when you ask anyone who the next villain should be who do they usually say? its Mr Sinister right? thats because people see him as another big bad similar to apocalypse

and yes i know he isn't apocalypse but doesn't mean you can't make him a strong villain

Plus:

-They've done Magneto.
-They've done Mystique.
-They've done Stryker.
-They've done The Sentinels.
-They've done The Phoenix (not WELL, but they have done it).
-They're doing Apocalypse now.

So who's the only truly "iconic" X-Men villain left, Mr. Sinister.

exactly!

Sinister could be only introduced in Gambit to set up another X-Men movie where he is the main villain.

Possibly but fox doesn't really plan ahead with these films because when they attempted too in the past they didn't follow through with it and now we have X-Men origins and all the seeds it planted for more movies rejected from continuity

i mentioned X-Force also since they hired a director and started work on the script and then they shelved it for X-Men: Apocalypse

I don't think Fox are incapable of planning ahead, even if they've largely played it by ear in the past. Even an underperforming Gambit solo doesn't mean Sinister can't be used again. We've already seen three different Strykers.

I don't believe this whole "Fox doesn't plan ahead" stuff.

Singer and Vaughn clearly planned ahead while making X2, First Class, and Days of Future Past.

I hope they have finally gotten with the program and created some kind of plan. A plan that goes beyond just the next sequel.

I would add Proteus to that as well, he was good in the AS.

They're probably not going to space any time soon, but I'd love the Brood (who are genuinely creepy, terrifying villains). Maybe a Starjammers spinoff followed by the Brood.

Yeah but that's the Individual directors planning ahead, not FOX

Not true, your missing Onslaught, Shadow King, Stryfe, Omega Red, Wendigo and Nova. Sure those aren't as well known, but they are still iconic.

Yeah, X-Men probably have the best Rogues Gallery in comics outside of Batman. I don't think future villains are going to be a problem.

IMO... I wouldn't call Stryfe, Shadow King, Wendigo, Nova iconic.... outside the comic-books.. I don't think the general audience even heard their name unless they played those X-Men Legends videogames and seen the cartoons. Plus Mr. Sinister is even more popular than Onslaught and Omega Red.

Omega Red should be introduced in the last Wolverine movie.

As for Mr. Sinister, they could tease him in this film.

If you think about it that way, at most, the general audience thinks of the X-Men like this: "The Wolverine, the bald dude in the wheelchair and the old guy who controls metal with the weird helmet... oh and the sexy blue chick". Yes, they know their names, but that's what the X-Men are to them. I wouldn't trust the GA to know more than Wolverine, Cyclops, Professor X, Magneto and Mystique, maybe Beast and Jean Grey. Mr. Sinister is not iconic for the general audience.

How would they not know Storm? Your assuming far too much and not really looking at it from the perspective psylocke is trying to say. He's saying based on the media they are present in Sinister is much more apart of the X-Men mythos as far as fans of these go.

What I'm saying is, the general audience doesn't really know any of the villains past Magneto and maybe Mystique now.

I wouldn't mind Sinister in Gambit, but I do think the X-Men need a space odyssey. Asteroid M, Mojo or the Lilandra story (I've only seen the 90's animation). But that's just me.

I don't see Mojo really working onscreen at this point of the X-Movies.

I would kill for a Shi'Ar/Lilandra story with a mix of Asteroid M.

Genosha is on the top of my list of things I want to see.

I do too, but I'm not sure about having it for a Gambit movie.

The ideal would be making a Magneto solo film and having it there. Maybe if they do that, they won't be tempted to make Magneto the villain of every single damn X-Men film that follows.

This. Keeps Fassbender in the fold, but away(for a while) from main X-Men movies.

Exactly!

So is Tatum doing this or what?

Quicksilver, Toad, Sabretooth, Apocalypse....... these villains are exposed to the public outside of the comics. They arent as popular as Magneto and Mystique but I wouldnt say they are as well known as Wendigo or Shadow King.
