We all have our own prejudices. Criticism is fine. As long as it isn't fanboyism for other companies. Which this section gets it's fair amount of, now that the FF forum was a wasteland.

I can guarantee that I would be a labeled a troll if I went to all the MCU areas and constantly spouted off my opinions on those movies. Which is why I don't. I prefer to stick to areas of stuff that I enjoy.

(still, the fanboyism does keep me out of the DD section)

You make some of the comments in an MCU section that get made by MCU fans in here you would get crucified.

Some people do want their loyalties to reign supreme. I'm Canadian, I think Canada is better than the UK. If you're British, you probably disagree. Honestly, though, it is kind of unfortunate that Gambit may receive the brunt of that hate. Hopefully they get Doug Liman because hopefully this movie is great.

Is there an update on this one?

Front page SHH still lists it as coming out about a year from now. Is there a plot? Script? director? Anticipated budget? Start of filming date?

It's probally going to be pushed to fall 2017 release inless fox saves it for 2018.

If i would have posted my review of AOU i would have been bashed since i have very low oporion of that fil.I would be crucified if i in civil war section
commented how much i dislike rumors on SPider-man In Civil war.

Regardless on how spider-man is being treated i am waiting for trailer for civil war before making my mind on it.

I just don't see the point in going to MCU sections for films I don't like and consently trash.Same thing with man of steel.I just don't understand why MCU fans who don't like X-Men films feel the need to consently to come and bash them.

Call me crazy, but I think a Bill Polhad directed, or even produced, Gambit film would be amazing. I still really want Doug Liman to take the job, though. The problem is, he has a movie called Mena coming out in 2017 so I would wager his undivided attention to be with that film. If he takes the job, though, it is pretty much a guarantee that Gambit will be delayed - probably late 2017 or early 2018 - because I cannot see a director like Liman taking his focus off of Mena.

Yeah, Mena is in post-production, due for a January 2017. But beyond that Liman has Luna Park, which he and Tom Cruise are looking to film next year before MI6. So Liman is out.

(Side bar, does Liman give anyone else a "I'm going to kill you in your sleep, then prance naked through a meadow in the moonlight" kind of vibe?

Similarily, Black is in post-production on the pilot for the western series Edge(due in Nov/Dec), and post-pro for The Nice Guys (May 2016). But he's also got other films already lined up, Doc Savage, Predator, & The Destroyer. So he's also out. (Also, f*** the haters, IM3 was great, Black is hugely talented, and Gambit would have been lucky to get him)

Joe Cornish is the only one of the 3 with, apparently, nothing going on.

Yet Joe Cornish is also the least qualified of the three. Hell, why doesn't Tom Cruise just jump onto this project if he wants to work with Liman so much.

Mantis was casted for a 2017 movie and we haven't got any confirmation on the lead female of Gambit yet :csad:

There is no director and who knows what is going on with the script, of course we don't have info like that.

I know. I'm just so jealous :D Every morning I wake up and hope to find some news of X-Men movies but getting a bunch of MCU instead.

Both actresses are still in talks/negotiations for the roles.

Seydoux is their preferred choice and they'll likely sign her on as soon as they find a director.

You know what I think would be great? George Miller proved with Mad Max: Fury Road that age doesn't affect the quality of your movies. If Richard Donner saw the directorial candidates for this move, turned to his wife, said "**** this ****" and became director. Of course he hasn't directed anything in years and that would not guarantee greatness. I still want Liman though and am still sad that Wyatt left. I think Wyatt could have made a great movie but he probably felt he couldn't in this time frame of production.

There is tons of hostilities on all of these boards. I think every fanbase goes overboard in defending the honor of their pet franchise every now and again.

Outside of the nightmarish Nolan-Batman forums I have felt more hostility from the X-fans but maybe that is just my perception. My fellow DC fans (including myself) can be overly hostile as well. Putting aside the Nolan-Batman zealots I don't know if any fanbase has room to talk. It's like an open question.

I really liked MOS and the Nolan films though, "If you don't like them then tough" has more merit in this case because it's not like the franchises are going anywhere. However when it comes to the Spider-man (meh to the shared crap), FF and X-men franchises currently being leased out to crappy tenants, there's still the hope that an eviction notice is in the process for them all sooner rather than later.

Keep lumping FF and X-Men together like the situations are the same with those franchises. This isn't 2009. X-Men is solid right now with Fox. Definitely no where close to an eviction notice. FF though . . .

"From the studio that made X:men: Days of Future Past"

If Fox can "Lump it" while advertising 4stic then I'll use it to condemn them. (respectfully of course)
I don't care for either so that helps....

Fox didn't lump the franchises together, they lumped the fact that they made both movies together. Both of you are wrong in your terms of lumps. It's more like a Fergalicious definition of lumps. My lumps my lumps my lumps.

That's sounds like the same thing, neither of which is what I said in any case. My point being that people tend to lump the two franchises together when it's convenient. H3ll they were using DOFP's Cinderella story to defend 4stic. But 3 months, a 9% rt rating and -$60M to -$100M later and no one supporting Fox-men wants to even acknowledge that reboot as a Fox-Marvel film let alone a franchise that Singer himself had teased about being in a X-men crossover a couple weeks before it's pathetic release.

They all went from "Wait and see" to "Move along...Nothing to see here."

The truth is, know and no sound the same as well. I don't see how Days of Future Past is a Cinderella story, and I don't think Bryan Singer is a Prince Charming. However, people that do tend to lump the two franchises together should consider other movies made by TSG Entertainment.

If Days of Future Past and Fant4stic belong together, well then so does The Counselor, The Book Thief, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Gone Girl and Birdman.

Just because they were advertised together means nothing. It's something you saw in commercials and yes, trailers are commercials. It shouldn't be reflective of the film's quality in any way. Yeah, it might set you up for disappointment and you don't deserve that, but marketing people are the way they are. Hell, if marketing people were wise, Disney and Fox would be having another argument today over who sells Star Wars toys in Japan.

Geez am I the only one seeing a pattern here? Why do I feel like a certain poster is ranting about Fox again and again when he posts in X-Men forums. Geez. Its bad enough to go to the Fantastic Four forum and it continues here? Give us a break.
