This film is being made because of tatum. If not because of him Gambit probally would have been used In Apocalypse but tatum wants a solo film first.

The fact tatum's passion project Is playing Gambit you have to admire him if your X-Men fan.Not too many stars passion project is playing comic book
Character.I still wouldn't be shocked if they work In a cameo In Apocalypse.

Yay, director. I look forward to what he does with it.

Doug Liman is a great replacement, perhaps even better than Wyatt. I was reading a THR article on how Wyatt's really afraid of messing up but is a very considerate, gentle and talented guy, and I can understand the trepidation on both sides to committ when things are uncertain.

Liman could be better suited to handle things. He's good at action and I really liked the Bourne Identity. Hopefully the film is still good and they take the time to get things right.

Lea when asked about Gambit

"For the moment it’s… I have nothing to say!"

He's the best choice but lets not get ahead of ourselves yet, he hasn't officially signed on, neither has Lea Seaydoux, but hopefully they do soon.

Actually it's his second passion project. His first was playing a stripper.

I know the film is only being made because of Tatum's involvement and I do like his passion for the character.

The success of Days of Future Past and Tatum's willingness to star and produce pretty much gave Donner the excuse to make the movie. Hopefully it turns out well, it could be a hit with Liman at the helm.

If Liman gets the gig my anticipation will shoot right up, he is such a good director.

he pretty much is set.final neogrations means he has agreed to do it.they are simply finalizing his contract.best possable choice they could have made.

One of those is great... the other has Samuel L. Jackson as the villain...

The premise intrigued me and I liked the action so sue me lol

Bourne Identity and Edge Of Tomorrow are both superb films.

I honestly didn't know who directed these movies but just enjoyed them that's a good sign for me I have extreme confidence going forward

Hey, this movie'll be good. Jumper was Liman's worst film and even then it wasn't too terrible, like you said, it had good action. His least entertaining movie to me was Mr. and Mrs. Smith. If the script is good, the movie'll be good. If the script is terrible, then the worst we'll get is Ang Lee's Hulk (great acting, great directing, but a **** story and script to boot).

Dammit, Liman's involvement is gonna make me care about this, isn't it.

I thought Jumper was too terrible but that's just me.

Yeah that movie was pretty horrible. The script by Kinberg and Goyer just wasn't good though. Swingers, Go, Bourne Identity and Edge Of Tomorrow are all solid.

Still think that it's obnoxious that they are putting more effort into a solo Gambit movie then they did Fantastic Four. But of course I am pleased that they are putting effort into this film.

Along with a bad script I thought Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson were horrible. The film just didn't work for me on any level. I don't blame Liman for that, he has shown himself to be a perfectly solid director.

Even with the director upgrade, I just can't shake a bad feeling about this one... hopefully I'm wrong.

Did NOT know Liman directed Swingers! Another great flick, Go was really good too. The guy is just a damn good director.

You'd could argue their putting more effort into Gambit because of the FF debacle

Pretty sure the effort is more because of Tatum. Much like Deadpool and Reynolds this is a project that is getting made because of the star being passionate about the character. I don't think a Gambit movie would be happening at all right now without him.

F4 was a project that was made to hold the rights.

Making the film because they were trying to hold on to the rights doesn't mean that they had to half ass it.

Oh I agree, but the situation here is very different imo. They are not being forced into a corner with losing characters or IP's. That has to effect the studios motivation, they knew Fant4stic was **** early on but they took the gamble anyways. If Tatum bailed I wouldn't doubt that this film would be canceled indefinitely.
