150m is alot of $ to just make a movie because Chan wants it made. I think also LSD thinks she's found her Hugh Jackman replacement.

I like Deadpool but he's R rated so I don't think he can be the Wolverine replacement but part of the ensemble the FOX should have been using as the stars of the franchise since X-Men is about the team not a solo.

I think it's fitting that Gambit be the new goto guy but still everyone should get a lot of shine. Gambit's the only one from TAS or the Blue Team to not get representation in a X-Men film(Betsy/Jubilation get proper due next year)

They are gonna do both if they are a success just like they do with Logan. They want that expanded universe.

If Deadpool hits we all know Deadpool 2 and X-Force won't be far down the line. Likewise with a Gambit sequel, and Gambit in X-Men or another X property.

Cyclops should definitely be the lead character. But the X-Men always have a "cooler" guy or girl on the team as well. Gambit is that smoking cigarettes instead of cigars like Logan (Chan mention he likes that Remy smokes) kinda guy and he'd be that X-Man to play off of Scott kinda that rebel type of guy dark and mysterious. He doesn't need to be the main characther but that was a sticking point in his contract LSD wanted him to be in X-Men films as well so he's definitely going to be a headliner in the film not the leader. Wolverine shouldn't have been the leader. But Remy can be that 4th guy on the team after Cyclops, Jean, & Storm. I hope Chan brings the nick names back to X-Men. Slim, Stormy, Red, Cherie, Petite, Elf, Chuck... Gambit is famous for his nick names that he calls the team that could be unique to him since the other X-Men films they for some reason don't call each other nick names.


Yeah I agree I see Deadpool leading to Deadpool & Cable in 2018 & then X-Force in 2020.

I feel that's a good team it's a balance in genders and ethnicities

No Raven and No Eric so that'd be more screen time for everyone as well. I'd suggest extended cameos for Xavier & Moira and just feature them more prominently in New Mutants instead.

This won't happen but I'd like Laura to be the new Wolverine. It would solve two problems it adds a prominent female and it ends any future love triangle between Logan, Scott, & Jean. Which imo was the dumbest thing about FOX X-Men because Jean never chooses Logan over Scott in the 616 or Cartoons.

I doubt it. If Gambit ends up being a hit and if people resonate with his character, I could see them making X-Men movies set in the 80s and 90s with this young cast simply with Gambit in the Wolverine type role. They're both atypical to the typical American male, Wolverine as the Canadian outsider, Gambit as the Cajun smoothtalker.

Honestly, though, if this movie is the hit they want it to be, ala Ant-Man style success (maybe not that high in terms of box office, but still), I could see Gambit easily being enough to make people forget Wolverine. I think that's the plan because Donner's indicated she doesn't want to talk about Jackman leaving and now that he is, this movie could provide the perfect way out of it.

Yeah I believe Chan will be the break out star of The X franchise. Hopefully 3 solo's and 3 team films. It'll force Marvel to make Gambit solo comics which is a plus for me

Yes she didn't but a lot of regular fans preferred her with Logan because of the on screen chemistry and they kissed too passionately for my taste in X3 and The Wolverine it makes me sick rewatching those scenes. Cyclops really got zero respect hopefully that changes quickly. Wolverine has been trying to get with Jean in 4 movies it should've stopped after X1.

Other than that I love Wolverine and I hope Hugh goes out with a bang and cameos in Gambit too that's be 11 appearances.

Thing about wolverine and jean is that by X3 jean had become wolverines love interest since cyclops was thrown out the picture early and then in the wolverine she was treated like his ex gf who he loved and lost and they just made such a big deal out of that love story so cyclops always felt like the husband standing between them

it will be interesting to see what they do with jean and cyclops in apocalypse since we have not really had that love story and its about time we did

But I'm starting to think the X-Men producers need to kinda give into the fanbase a little more. I'm not a fan of Rogue & Gambit because I think Gambit as a kinda pretty boy type needs to be with a woman he can physically touch like Bell or Betsy (The actors are around the same age and have good chemistry in other films). I don't like the angst between Rogue/Gambit the will they, wont they etc.

Rogue's fanbase is probably second only to Storm's and they really want her to get with Gambit but how could that work if Gambit is apart of the first class timeline unless they put Gambit in present day with the current Rogue (Who appears to be with Bobby)?

Again I don't want Rogue & Gambit to get together but if it adds to the box office of any X-Men property I'm all for it.

Eh, who knows ... but this is a bizzare thoight at first.
I mean, even Logan struggled to get a trilogy. After X-Men Origins wasn't well received, the budget for The Wolverine was even less than X-Men: Origins.
Gambit has to do better than the Wolvie movies. Or not. At best it will take years for the sequel.

I think Origins ruined the initial plans for Deadpool & Gambit solos because of how bad it was. The Wolverine would've came out much sooner if Origins wasn't so bad I think

He does get any other woman he can touch, though. But it's the one he can't touch that he loves. And Rogue's always been more of a good girl in the series, so it would make sense for her to fall for a crook (and darn! I still picture Josh Hollowy/Sawyer from Lost playing the role). Idk, I feel Rogue & Gambit would make for a great story in the franchise, it's already been written and fans are expecting it, so why not just give it to 'em and avoid rewriting everything?

Either way, Fox will come up with something good. I have a hunch!

He does get any other woman he can touch, though. But it's the one he can't touch that he loves. You also don't get to choose who you fall in love with, so Rogue & Gambit would make for a great story. Either way, I expect Fox will come up with something good, with or without Rogue.

I'm not against Remy & Anna I'd support the ship because X-Men films need more ships besides Sean and whoever Logan wants at the time.

Rogue n Gambit is iconic during the X-Men most popular moment in time so hey why not do it.

I like Bobby n Anna Marie but hey its whatever. I'm just thinking Rogue is to young for Remy now in the films

Oh lord please let there not be 3 Gambit movies. I'd be plenty content with just one Gambit before they just throw him into a team-up film. Same with Deadpool (though we will probably get a sequel and an X-Force movie if it does well, which it certainly seems like it)

And yeah I don't know why people are jumping the gun on Lea's involvement. Even if she had signed on when Wyatt was on board, the delay in production would've had to impact Lea's upcoming projects so they'd have to renegotiate all that. All we have is Chan right now.
