Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 3

Eh, Snider removed Liman over past beef with the Bourne Identity. He went over budget and schedule at Universal there and she found him a liability. So I'm not necessarily going to count that against Gambit itself.

I hope this happens, if only so Chan can prove how much the character actually means to him. If he ain't that passionate, then it won't happen anyways.

He's certainly not my first choice for Gambit (just from a physical appearance standpoint), but his dedication to this role has honestly won me over.

I'm from New Orleans and a film listing shows that Gambit will begin filming June 1, 2017 in NOLA. I don't know how accurate these listings are though. I'd post a picture, but I don't know where to upload it.

They might get something done around then, kind of like how Batman v Superman had it's football game scene filmed months beforehand. But with his Magic Mike Live Show, it seems like they're hammering out all details before they get filming officially started in January.

Only thing that worries me with Tatum is he will be at least 40 by the time this comes out.

Ryan Reynolds is 40 right now and he's still built like a middle distance runner, so I think Chan will be fine. Just make sure he can do card tricks and speak in a Cajun accent.

People will be more down for Tates once they see him as a Statesman this year

How is he all wrong for Gambit?

He doesn't have a Gambit face or physique. Also, he's not a good enough actor for Gambit. With him starring, i fear we'll see a over the top playboy Gambit without the depth (self loathing, abandonment issues etc.) Also he's too old. Reynold wears a mask, has prosthetics and really embody's Wade. I seriously doubt Tatum will be play the role of Gambit as well as Reynolds did Deadpool, even he he looked like him.

Remy & Tates are both 6'1 and he's in great shape?

Gambit isn't Titus Andronicus im sure it doesn't require some Oscar level performance to portray the role.

Yeah but Wade is supposed to be a little world weary, Gambit always came across as a bit younger to me.

I know, i just think there's way more to the character than the regular movie audience realizes. I want to see his personality in all its paradoxical glory.

And what i meant with physique is i'd prefer a more slender, athletic build over a beefcake. He's a thief not a UFC fighter.

What I've come to accept with FoX is that "it's better than nothing"

So a Tatum Gambit movie with a older Gambit in the present without being a member of the X-MEN isn't ideal....

It's better than nothing :csad:

Anyone who's seen Tatum in Hateful Eight will realize he's a good fit for the Cajun. I think with a competent director, he can pull it off.

When I heard him kicking the french accent I was like "This is ****ing GAMBIT".

Should be easy for him to transition to Cajun. He has the physical presence and star power.

I don't see what the resistance is against him to be honest.

I hope Fox has learned from Deadpool and Logon in regards to letting the creators do there job and stop meddling.

Don't dump any cameo's from other X characters. NO Deadpool, Cyclops etc. Just create original characters, or used the lesser known characters from Gambits thieves guild.

Gambit obviously doesn't need to be R. It also doesn't need a massive budget. Make a Oceans 11 heist movie, with John Wick action and you can't lose.

Please watch a guide to recognizing your saints. You'll change your mind.

Heck watch Foxcather.

And even if he is an over the top playboy, that's 90% of his onscreen persona.

Spot on, get a director with a clear vision like Mangold and Miller and let him do his thing with it.

let's get a good director.pair him with tatum who has great passion for the
character, focus on gambit's time in new orleans and the thieves and assassin's guild.

however i wouldn't be surprised if say sinister is one fiancing the heist in film.gambit has been called a heist film.

if they want to include X-Men characters in gambit films wait for sequels.

they never forced any characters into deadpool and logan.Other studios could
take note of this.

I agree however if there were to be one addition it would be Rogue. I could see something similar to Yukio in Wolverine. Like maybe Prof X has found Gambit and sends Rogue in to help him out.

Which is what Fox seems to be doing with the X-Men titles and spin-offs anyway. The guys currently in charge at Fox are cool cats in my book. And not just because of their comic book adaptations. I mean, we're getting an R-rated, big budget Predator sequel co-written (with Fred Dekker) and directed by Shane Black next year.

There is no ballsier major studio out there at the moment.

I want to hear from Channing personally if he is still doing this or not. Not some producer who says he is still attached, this movie needs to get going.
