Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 3

Polaris or Wolverine probably. Lorna because she could face off as equals with Erik, but I guess Vaughn wouldn't be all that interested in exploring their familial ties.

Speaking of Vaughn's cancelled First Class sequel (and the link that henzINNIT posted) who do you think his one (and only character) he was planning to bring to the next movie?

Tbh, I hated his FC and so just adding one more character to the sequel didn't make me anticipate his next film even more.

If you read that last link above, it's obvious it was Wolverine.

But more things might have changed by the time the sequel went into production.

Is this one of their half-baked ideas that wasn't really been thought thru? Wolverine has always lose to Magneto every time they go one on one. lol

Polaris makes more sense here.
"New character" doesn't make me think the younger Wolverine.

Indeed. Pitting a metal-laced mutant against a metal-controlling mutant doesn't seem wise, but i guess they want to see Magneto fling him around like a rag doll.

Or this could have been before Wolverine had the metal, and perhaps led to him getting it when he met Stryker.

Vaughn is a bit quirky at the best of times though it brings an interesting energy to his projects.

I meant "Wolverine has always lost" not "has always lose." #grammarFail

See none of that is exciting to me. Even Polaris as the sole new character. It seemed like they weren't in a hurry to give us the actual first Class, if the sequel to FC only happened the next year.

Unless they were finally willing to embrace the continuity hodgepodgeness and they would give us Scott, Storm and Jean in the third film, regardless of what year that would've been set in.

FC is currently on tv here.

perhaps we should get back to gambit since it's the gambit thread ;p

Hopefully gambit gets director soon as shawn madden is hearing.

it and new mutants are the spin-offs i am most intrested in.

I am still a bit i will believe it when i see it but hopefully it is true.

I guess it'll be an interesting test of Channing Tatum's determination and love for the character. Ryan Reynolds endured quite a long journey to see Deadpool through to completion, and Gambit is shaping up to be a similar situation.

It's shaping up to be a disaster. By the way, isn't Tatum like 37? We're gonna start off with Gambit in his late 30's.

they could keep tatum if they keep paquin, they're roughly the same age.

but it would be all right if they recast and mixed rogue and gambit with the younger cast. they are meant to be about the same age.

personally, I've wanted to see a mature, X-men team film for a while now, i.e. the X-Men 3 that never was and that some of us hoped we'd see when Days of Future Past erased X3 and hinted at an original cast sequel. Teen flicks are all right, but, if you see Avengers, most of those guys are in their 30s and 40s. It wouldn't hurt Fox to try an original cast sequel, at least to give them a proper farewell and guarantee some big bucks!!

I think they should have the spinoff for Gambit like this: Have Gambit rescue Belladonna from the Thieves Guild with the X-men involved in the background kind of like how they did with Deadpool. You can also have a few X-men appear like Rogue Iceman and Storm it doesn't have to be the whole team. The movie should also be set in the present not in the past

Kinberg is running the series, don't expect him to do the clever thing. X-Men are stuck in the freaking past from now on!

Kinberg sucks @$$. He thinks X-men are the bold and the beautiful of superheroes.

well I'd say film, like literature, is open to interpretation : P

Fox may have implied it was over, but not on screen. Also Ellen Page should come back!

This is a passion project for Lauren Shuler Donner - whose wanted to do it since she announced Gambit for X-Men: Origins - and Channing Tatum - whose wanted to play Gambit since he was originally approached for The Last Stand.
