Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 3

Which is what Fox seems to be doing with the X-Men titles and spin-offs anyway. The guys currently in charge at Fox are cool cats in my book. And not just because of their comic book adaptations. I mean, we're getting an R-rated, big budget Predator sequel co-written (with Fred Dekker) and directed by Shane Black next year.

There is no ballsier major studio out there at the moment.

Oh I agree, for me Fox are doing great at the moment. But all of my current enthusiasm will quickly deflate if Kinberg is confirmed as director of Supernova.

I agree however if there were to be one addition it would be Rogue. I could see something similar to Yukio in Wolverine. Like maybe Prof X has found Gambit and sends Rogue in to help him out.

I just wanna see that as a movie poster lol

I would save that for the sequel. Set up a Bonnie and Clyde / Mr and Mrs Smith romance road trip or something.

I want the first movie to set up Gambit without the distraction of fan service and cameo's from well known characters.

You've got Logan, Legion, and a number of potentially great titles in development on one hand.

... And Kinberg crapping out the flagship title on the other.

A strange state of affairs.

I'd really like this to take place in present day and feature a Rogue cameo where she redeems herself for the total ******** way her character was treated in the series. DOFP still pisses me off because the Rogue cut is such a better film, minus the mansion scene with Mystique...

That would be fierce and glorious!

Rogue for gambit!

Gambit is no Deadpool nor Logan, so yeah, the possible appearance of Rogue and other X-Men members/important mutants it's really the only thing that excites me about this project.

But that's just me and how I feel about it.

It's fair to say that gambit is being made to be a solo character, adding X-Men just asks why they are making a solo movie at all.

I mean, Deadpool had Colossus.

Logan had Xavier.

It isn't really crazy to expect one secondary X-Men character in his movie.

I hope so. Like I said, Gambit is no Logan and nobody is asking for that movie like the fans were for Deadpool, except Channing Tatum.

Gambit has decades of solo stories, is one of the most importatn and most popular Marvel heroes, is one of the most iconic X-Men member for decades, has an animation called Gambit and the X-Men and was one of the main characters in two others, has been played by the same actor since 2000 and it's highly beloved by that, everybody knows who he is. He sure is the new Wolverine and everybody is dying to see his solo movie... with no other X-Men member or important character in it.
:o

I'm saying they're creating a new badass loner franchise to replace WOLVERINE. Gambit will be the spiritual successor to Wolverine (well, aside from X-23).

Its fair to say they ain't doing it because the fans are screaming for it, they are doing it because they feel he has potential as a solo character like wolverine and deadpool.

It just seems to me that throwing well known X-Men in the movie shows a lack of faith and if there is a lack of faith then why are they making a solo movie?

Putting Colossus in Deadpool was lack of faith?

If there was pressure to add more X-Men because they felt couldn't make a solo movie without more... then yeah kinda.

Although for the reasons these characters are added to these movies i don't think its the same reason fans want these characters to be added to these movies.

That's not an answer to my question.

Again, it didn't hurt Deadpool or Logan whatsoever but suit yourself I guess.

X-Men spinoffs:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: Sabretooth, Gambit, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Scott, Xavier
Wolverine: Jean Grey (showed in the trailers to sell), Xavier, Magneto
Deadpool: Colossus
Logan: Xavier, X-23
New Mutants: Possibly Xavier and Storm.

What are you meaning Frankel I thought he answered it nicely.

Adding another X-Men character in Gambit would likely help Gambit the movie.

Lets not kid ourselves, Gambit isn't as popular as Deadpool and Logan. And we all know Gambit is only being made because of Channing. So that right there is aproblem. Adding more familiar faces would likely help more people get invested yto this or at least watch it.

And I am not saying make Rogue a supporting role kinda like Xavier or Laura but a similar role that Colossus in Deadpool movie would be nice. That would also open the possibility of Gambit eventually joining the X-Men which could be a crowd pleaser.

I think someone isn't just open to the idea of an Ot cast member popping up in the movie.

There wasn't. The writers wanted him in the movie as a counterpart to Wade, and they weren't even sure if the studio would allow them to use an X-Man in such context.

So no, Colossus wasn't included as a lack of faith in the Deadpool movie. And let's not kid ourselves, his inclusion sure wasn't what got people into theaters.

yep.Colossus in deadpool was because of writers wanting in film.

I really doubt that they'll make Gambit Movie. It will probably just get forgotten like the Fantastic Four 2015 sequel. Fox didn't announce the cancellation of the sequel of the 2015 Fantastic Four movie. They'll do the same for Gambit. The Studio holds the say so and it doesn't matter that actors or writers want to do the movie. Fox will be the one doing the deciding.

But if they end up making a Gambit movie I'd expect to be on the past in the year of 2000 after the timeline gets reset and Jean and Cyclops are alive again. So that either Cyclops (James Marsden) or Rogue (Anna Paquim) could be in this movie.
