Well it looks like [BLACKOUT]Jorah[/BLACKOUT] might not make it through the season. :csad:

I'm calling it: White Walkers in Westeros, Greyscale plague/Stone Man apocalypse in Essos.

It looks like the showrunners are going to try and carry over the wedding's haunting atmosphere from ADWD. Now I wonder where Sam's going next season: Dragonstone or the Citadel?

My memory is bad -

...he didn't get the greyscale in the book right? That was someone else. And I guess we're just dumping the fact that Dany's cousin was spared and being groomed to marry her? I seem to recall him being on the boat at the time of the stone men attack. That seemed kind of important to just take out. Are they going to dump the Dornish kid as well, that goes to try and marry her as well? :(

It was
Jon Connington/Griff who got Greyscale in the books, the best friend of Rhaegar who Varys tasked with raising his son, Aegon. He saves Tyrion but gets secretly infected and goes back to Westeros when they decide to invade. His hand starts turning to stone.

And yeah, Quentyn Martell is cut.

@Squeek:
There's speculation that Aegon isn't actually the Aegon Targaryen. Rather, he's being groomed by the Blackfyres to take the Iron Throne. Its been a while since I read the books, but the biggest piece of evidence that I recall is the Golden Company having given their allegiance to Aegon...or maybe it was Jon Con, who then told Aegon that he needed to actually meet witht he leaders of the Company.

Ser Davos mentioned the Golden Company last season, so its possible that they're now with Stannis. The show never touched on it past that one episode.

Even as I was reading it, I was thinking where is the DNA sample, lol. You can claim to be anyone but proving it is another matter. :p

I'm going to make a prediction on Dany's future in the show: She reconciles with Ser Jorah, Tyrion proves his worth and they work toward getting control over the situation in Meereen. Then the Greyscale plague hits, everything starts to unwind, and Dany is forced to flee Essos for Westeros. Likely arriving to a snowy wasteland with very little fanfare, seeking redemption...or something like that.

I was thinking Jorah and the Greyscale was going to be like the Pale Mare.

That one stone man touched tyrion in the water. Do y'all think he might have it as well.

Jorah needs to chop that arm off! It's his left. He can do without it.

Far as Tyrion goes, nah. They clearly showed his leg was covered where it was grabbed. He doesn't have greyscale in the books, and while they switched up Jorah/Jon C, it wouldn't make any sense to make Tyrion have it.

I'm not alone in thinking the show totally teased at [blackout]Jon Snow being part Targaryen[/blackout] when he walked in during Maester Aemon and Sam's conversation about Daenerys, right?

We don't know whether he is infected in the books. He fell in the water in the books, and just touching the water in the books is said to cause greyscale so he could still develope greyscale in WOW.

And there is the tiny issue of Jorah having it in the show and him having undoubtedly touched Tyrion a lot when he was pulling him out of the water and carrying him onto the beach. He had to have touched him. Swimming through water while holding onto Tyrion without touching his skin even by accident would have been damn near impossible.

Plus, if the disease is so contagious that you can get it from a doll that has sailed across the narrow sea or get it just by touching an infected person without having a cut on your's or their body then it's possible that Jorah or the Stone Man touching Tyrion's clothes could have contaminated his clothing and in turn Tyrion as well.

I just hope the writers didn't decide to infect him now or in the future. I'm gonna be worried about this as long as he is anywhere near Jorah the Walking Plague.

In the books, Tyrion is told to continuously prick his fingers and toes every day to see if he still has feeling. If he can't feel the prick, then that's when he knows he has to chop a finger or toe off. While Tyrion does it a few times throughout the book and is mostly ok, he's told by Haldon the Half-Maester that he'll have to do it every day for the rest of his life because the risk of infection is so great.

I like how the episode begins with showcasing how much of a terrible tyrant Daenerys is and then we switch to Jon Snow doing great risks to help everyone.

I didn't like the one line of dialogue where Stannis is praising that he has more men and horses. Stannis shouldn't be over his head because of statistics, but because of tactics.

They've builded up White Walkers since season 1. We're not getting a Stone Man apocalypse. :b

They're practically screaming it at us at this point.

Do those Stone Men try and 50 Shades of Greyscale everyone that sails through their hood?

At least in the books, the point of Connington getting greyscale seems to be to transmit it to Westeros, so Jorah's got some life in him yet, if that's the case here as well (I'm not sure why else they would feel the need to transfer that aspect of Connington to Jorah).

Maybe they'll find a Red Priest who can burn the disease off.

So, episode summary: Sansa is still an idiot, Jorah is still an idiot, Dany is still an idiot. Good times.

Sansa wasn't an idiot, she was actually quite smart. She fought her natural instinct to throttle Theon when she saw him and didn't bite at that bastard Ramsey's attempts to bait her.

Though she is still clearly way in over her head. I find it hard to believe that Littlefinger would leave her alone with Bolton scum. :cwink:

She naively trusted Ramsay's henchwench by going into the dark tunnel when all signs pointed to "get the **** out of there." Even when the henchwench disappeared she kept on walking. She spent the entire dinner scene not-so-subtly glaring at Ramsay and Roose, and acting as disagreeable as possible. Justified given her feelings, but not very smart in her position. Almost everything she did in this episode was a mistake.

Some of the jumps in logic this season are stunningly stupid.

Dany: "****'s gone down, and so I'm gonna marry a prisoner! TADAH!" Yes, I've read the book and know that plot is in there, but it's the way they have handled it. It didn't seem logical. It was a total "uh... kay?" kind of moment.

Sansa: How in the hell is she some "player" in the Game of Thrones? All that work on her arc, and she's going to be some lame duck virgin who gets sacrificed for pure shock and awe.

Stannis: One episode he doesn't have more men than Roose, than next he does, than next he doesn't, and now he does again? Make up your damn mind.

I'm hoping they can fix some of this **** -- mostly Sansa, rally some northerners to Stannis en route to Winterfell for a real "The North Remembers", somehow make Doran a real player, and not just a lame duck sitting in his chair looking into the distance guy because this Dorne story with Jaime/Bronn/Snakes is dull....
