Howland Reed could make sense if they are shooting the Tower of Joy storyline for this season. But McShane is obviously too old to play Reed during the actual tower of joy events, so he must recount what happened to another character?
i always pictured howland to be around lyanna's age since she took to him the way she did but, i just want to see howland show up already. ideally, he'd be around 18-20 for toj, if that casting description of a woman who appears to be lyanna holds up, but there's always movie magic. i would imagine howland's role is a pretty big one for the 7th and what might be, the last season of GoT.

Lets not forget Bran is back in the picture... so any flashback is possible. McShane doesn't look like hes going to be Howland, but a character made of for the show... I had hoped he might be involved with the Brotherhood without Banners but i doubt that.

Maybe he is involved with the Tully's? But we have heard jack **** about the Blackfish and Edmure is to busy raping people on another TV show.

The Blackfish needs to come back and mess up Frey and Bolton. But I don't want a recast, although McShane would have been a good choice to begin with for the character, I like the actor who played him in Season 3.

A flashback wouldn't make sense. If its a vision it still confirms that Jon returns. Pretty significant regardless.

The fact that they're still dealing with the Boltons through most of this season is weird, especially when you couple that with the introduction of Euron and the supernatural twists he brings. And then you have Littlefinger causing his ruckus to get through, Cersei and Gregor with the Faith. All that, and then the White Walker invasion. Frankly I can see why HBO wants 8 or more seasons.

and they are going to get it. I've said it for years there will be 9 seasons and a movie.

Dany still hasn't even ****ing conquered all of essos much less even thought about leaving it for westeros... and now shes with the dothraki... lol yea tons left to do.

I thought about this earlier there is no way this finishes in 7. It'll be at least 8 or 9.

At the rate they've been going, he's probably going to fight him barehanded, naked, and simultaneously raping a woman.

I swear I saw this in the Berserk manga's Band of the Hawk arc. One of the demons was doing this, except I think some of the victims were impaled on their swords and banners.

I wish they would go ahead and wrap up show Little finger's plot. Since Stannis didn't get him, maybe Royce or an Umber will.

They've turned Ramsay into Wyald!

"Excitement and Enjoyment!"

Can't wait for Ramsay and half a dozen ninja warriors to inexplicably defeat Jon Snow's entire army!

Those 20 good men will never get mentioned again because the plot demands the "likeable" good guys win.

No matter how you cut it, they ****ed over Stannis with this.

Real talk: when I read about Umbers, wildlings and Northerners being in that army mentioned in the WotW link, my first thought was "oh, like Stannis's army in ADWD."

Yeah, it seems to me that they've taken a lot of Stannis' storyline and cannibalised it for Jon, and in doing so they ruined Stannis character in the process.

Areo Hotah's actor confirmed that he has screen time this season, but implied that since he received his scripts so late into production that it probably won't be a very large role.

Yeah which is terrible. Game of Thrones' early seasons we're great because you had grey situations, you had grey characters and white and black.

Now as the show is becoming more and more popular, it becomes less grey and more obvious white and black. Hence the Starks are the good willy happy good guys, not damaged individuals who we're ravaged by war and becoming harsher characters.

Same here.

Plus, the Stannis in ADWD and the excerpted chapter from Winds had more of his crap together than show Stannis.
