True although what they did adapt from the books was done in such a way that one can still tell they're adapting a full realized product whereas here it's all cliffnotes that Martin can easily change his mind on by the time he actually sits down to write his book.

Which to me will always invalidate a bit of what they choose to adapt from this point on. It'll always be an "anime only" type of situation now which is kind of a shame to be honest. :(

You know what I mean?

Don't get me wrong I'm still highly enjoying this show. So no real legitimate complaints quite just yet aside from the horribly cringey crap from Dorne. Yuck.

It was always going to be that way with A Dream of Spring. But even Martin himself expected to have Winds of Winter out by now.

So... Why would you read blacked out text after i clearly stated "I don't know how this changes the battle of winterfell..." ?

Asteroid-Man decided to edit his post saying I did not preface this post with the same context as the above post.

http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=33568899&postcount=980

First sentence of that... Sure its a typo with 'changed' instead of 'changes'.

oh... and ... the edited post also mentioned 2 other posters who have my back because I am familiar with them... Sure... I've talked to DarthSkywalker a couple times in the NBA thread. and Marvolo... pretty rarely? Random lounge? I'm sure others agree... you're being a bit dramatic. The 'spoiler' i posted was from some random person saying they were an extra... posted in blackouts after clearly stating it was about the battle of winterfell.

If i claim to be an extra and say Jon Snow turns into a dinosaur, i guess that becomes fact.

First, you start off making a condescending post about spoiler etiquette... everyone disagrees with you... then you condescendingly tell people you'll give them a lesson in reading... and had the nerve to call someone else condescending.

Sorry, sir. You seem to have a problem with both reading and how to decipher what is probably a spoiler since it is hidden after being labeled as a future event.

It's like you accidentally clicked a spoiler you didn't mean to, then got upset... then got more upset that no one agreed with you.

Victarion, i guess he is part of the group backing me, said I was very careful with spoilers. Which I have been.

Tell me... Why didn't you complain about the BLACKED OUT spoilers about Trystane before the episode? Is it because you didn't accidentally highlight it like you did mine? Did you think they were spoilers from the future and not click them? Funny how no one gets butt hurt until they accidentally see something the didn't want to... any of us could be getting this crap from you, but it's me because I got the luck of the draw.

And... to be nice... I even started spoiler tagging THEORIES of mine.

Edit: **** it, I don't care anymore.

It seems like you didn't really care in the first place, just got bummed you spoiled yourself (of a spoiler we don't even know is anywhere near true :lmao: ) and decided to lash out at someone.

Damnit, I should have covered up that spoiler. I don't know what I was thinking. :(

There is an old saying carved into the walls of the Phantom cave in the jungles of Bengalla -

If you see spoiler tags....there is a damn good chance that a spoiler lies beneath it -

Is Roose Bolton still alive in the books? Do you guys think Dorne will join in the fight in the show? They've kinda put themselves in a corner now with killing off the royal family. Please god say it doesn't happen like that in the books :csad:

Roose is still alive. I'll put the status of the Dornish royal family in a spoiler tag, just in case.

So are Doran, Trystane and Myrcella
.

Dorne... Certainly they will be around. They want a war with the Lannisters. (well now they do)... Here's something for you to think on... Who would side with Dorne, of all the people in the world? :sly:

Roose... In the books [BLACKOUT]yes he is still alive... However, it is hinted at he may be sick or something just isn't right. Ramsay is afraid of one person in the world.. Roose... and Roose has absolute control over all of the Bolton men..even Ramsays men... He just lets Ramsay have his fun. Roose is worried about his guests though... Like he won't eat any food he doesn't see his potential enemies eat first. He's very careful and almost paranoid I would say.. [/BLACKOUT]

Watched a few of the episode's scenes on youtube. Had no emotional reaction to Jon coming back or Roose dying. Both scenes were so underplayed, and there was really nothing to set either of them up. I mean, obviously both were foreshadowed but the build-up was butchered. It didn't build, it just sort of gestured.

On the other hand, I also watched the Jaimie v. High Sparrow scene and really liked it. There was palpable tension and Jonathan Pryce is really fun to watch in that role. Which probably means he'll be killed off unceremoniously in the next episode.

Spoilers for episode 3... Well.. more speculation but it seems obvious at this point...

[blackout]So the Umbers... What's the deal? Greatjon had some random offscreen/never mentioned death? Pissed off Smalljon so he gives Ramsay Rickon? Or is Smalljon giving him to Ramsay out of fear? I mean if he thinks the Starks are gone (Sansa is technically a Bolton and Ramsay is hell bent on getting her) it makes sense to do it out of fear considering he's the last of the Stark name (so they think), but only for a cowardly family which I never thought the Umbers would be.[/blackout]

I wonder if we'll get some episode leaks in bundles this season. :wow:

lol even after last years 4 episodes leaked days before the premiere... they locked down on them and everything... yet somehow.... episode 1 still leaked :funny:

Given how early some stuff ended up happening - Balon death/Euron intro, the resurrection - I was half expecting a variation on Frey pies when the dude said he had a gift lol

getting that stuff out of the way (dorne too) helps make the shortened 7th and 8th seasons make sense... i thought surely Jon was done done until episodes 4-6... and Roose was around until episode 7 or so... but they are really pushing into uncharted waters now

I was just talking about this with friends earlier today. I'm hoping that the rushed nature of the past few episodes is so we can really move into the endgame and get to some of the really good new material.

So, anyone else looking forward to the upcoming Tower of Joy sequence? If they play it right, it should have enough epic elements to make it the new big moment for this season. I'm hoping the emphasize just how far Ned came to get his sister, and how it really does come off as a kind of "unstoppable force" (Ned and his bodyguard crossing an entire continent and overthrowing a dynasty to rescue his sister) versus an "immovable object" (kingsguard standing to defend what is literally the last stronghold on the continent to still be Targrayen).

They can milk that for all the drama they need even before they get to Ned entering the Tower.
