Yeah, he needed to get rid of the actual heir. They made that pretty clear. And this was the show that had all of Robert's bastards killed. So what do you expect?

Yeah it seemed the writer had completely forgotten about the season 2 baby murders, let's not forget Robb Stark's pregnant wife.

They have been teasing Ramsey's displeasure about another Bolton heir and Walda for the past couple seasons. It has been heavily sign posted what Ramsay would most likely do given half the chance. I'm not sure why this came as a huge surprise.

The only guarantee on Game Of thrones is that lots of people will die horrible deaths.

You would think the clickbait articles would decrease as the show goes on but you still find people acting like they don't know what kind of show they are watching.

I'm conflicted on was this episode really any better than the 1st. Ramsay Bolton went on a political suicide by destroying his alliance with the Freys, heck even Roose for some reason doesn't even mention their alliance to the Freys in hopes casual tv viewers wouldn't pay attention.

Walda's death means Ramsay lost one of the biggest armies he could have acquired assistance from, and now we all can just confirm Ramsay will bite the dust too in this season, with an anti-climatic good vs. evil brawl.

On the otherhand, the Euron actor did seem promising and the Children of the Forest finally looked line one. Tyrion's dragon scene was cool too.

Davos not murdering Melisandra because of what happened to Shireen and Stannis is so weird, and where on earth did his resurrection dreams come from?

I don't know.... 5/10?
Who's to say Walda wasn't "poisoned" like her husband? I doubt Walder ever gets the truth of it.

So assuming R+L=J is true, does that [blackout]still make Jon a bastard?[/blackout]

Well in the book and the early seasons of Game of Thrones, when an important family member died, the family the dead belonged to requests the body/bones of their own.

I agree, I doubt they will even adresss Walda's death when Walder returns.

Has anyone seen next episode's preview?

I love that we are going to see[BLACKOUT]The Tower of Joy[/BLACKOUT] 😱😱😱

One minor nitpicking i have (although maybe there's some explanation next week): i don't like [BLACKOUT]the armor the kingsguard is using. They should use the same one Jaime and the actual Kingsguard use. Maybe not to mess with the show only watchers mind....[/BLACKOUT]

Something tells me the show will do something similar to Rattleshirt/Mance or Arya/Jeyne with Olly and Rickon.

So assuming R+L=J is true, does that [blackout]still make Jon a bastard?[/blackout]
The popular theory, which has some legs, is that Rhaegar and Lyanna were married in front of a weirwood, which would allow Bran to see it through his greenseer abilities. Multiple brides has a history in Westeros or with the Targaryens. I can't remember which.

Aye, that's what I was thinking. Walder won't be rushing anyway to aid the Boltons now, they've lost all value to him.

So assuming R+L=J is true, does that [blackout]still make Jon a bastard?[/blackout]
Probably, was thinking they could have married in secret but I forgot that he was married already.

This is the book readers thread. There is no reason to use spoiler tags with the oldest theory in the series. It is over 20 years old.

I think him getting Sansa to the wall and to safety would be making amends in a way. he just up and trusts Brienne and Pod? After the tricks ramsays pulled on him? id think he would be so ****ing paranoid he wouldn't leave her side until she was where he wanted her to be. Going to Pyke just doesn't make much sense to me. Reek back home? talk about misplacement. its awkward if anything.

I have a feeling that "home" for Theon is going to be revealed to be Winterfell; with him working towards killing Ramsay to pave the way for the Starks to return to Winterfell.

I have a feeling that Davos will take the place of Mance; assuming they continue with that storyline.

I liked how Tormund pulled his blade when Olly tried to bumrush him.

Slaver's Bay is back in control of the Masters...might we get some of the Slaver's Bay stuff from ADWD? Fingers crossed, that was my favorite part of the novel's Dany chapters.

Tyrion's season five trip would've been much less of a drag if he and Jorah had been pressganged by the Tattered Prince. Then we'd get a trip through the wartorn cities and the pertinents from the Quentyn chapters.

There is if it has to do with set reports. And even then people should say "Spoilers about future episode" BEFORE the blackout.

2 episodes in and already this season is awesome, than ending, brilliant, I loved the rest of the episode as well though.

They have shown shots of the Tower of Joy in the damn trailers. Get out. :cmad:

SPOILER ETIQUETTE
A how to guide.
I stopped reading when I felt the condescension :o

UH... I've been assuming everyone in the Book Readers thread who is watching NEW SEASONS BEYOND THE BOOKS had read all the books.

And I am going to continue to do so until told to other wise. Why on earth would you watch the show... then complain about books spoilers when you aren't caught up on them?

The show is spoiling things not even we know are true or not lol.

this is silly. make an in progress readers thread. but then what if someone is 2 pages ahead of you?

Pretty much this. I have a hunch it is because he does go to Pyke in the books (whenever they're published) since he isn't protecting Sansa, but an imposter the Boltons had pretend be Arya. But on the show, he wanted some modicum of solace for betraying the Starks for his terrible family, so when it might be in reach with Sansa (even if it means taking the black) he then up and goes home to the same asshat father that put him on this path to self-destruction to begin with?

It rings false.

well... in Winds of Winters released chapter

BOOK SPOILERS FROM BOOKS!

[BLACKOUT]Stannis has Theon held captive and plans to execute him.[/BLACKOUT]

So what did people think about the Tyrion dragon scene and how it mirrored Quentin's final chapter in the books? I found that to be interesting.

On one hand, I kind of feel like that scene epitomizes how the show often fails to really capture the subtlety GRRM has in his storytelling and how he constantly turns the expected narrative of a fantasy tale on its head (though I'll be real, I hated the Quentin chapters in the books because I felt they were utterly pointless).

On the other hand, I kind of feel like that scene may have been hinting at Tyrion's possible lineage.

People are taking Tyrion talking to the dragons and them listening as him having Targ blood... which is fine and all if true... but I liked how Tyrion spoke of how highly intelligent dragons are

Yeah, I liked that too. Which seems in contrast with the books, because there hasn't really been anything that signifies them being super smart, but I was okay with it. And that was enough for me to be okay with him being able to do that and not get roasted. Though if he has Targ blood then I feel like it'll be double justified.

i do wonder where the dragons walked off too... certainly there's another entrance or something because they could't fit through the door lol...i hope they show next episode the dragons fly out of the roof or something...they had to have some form of skylight opening right? otherwise dany is a cruel ***** lol

I think the two could work together. I think it says a lot about the intelligence of dragon's if they can sense your genealogy.
