I just had a thought - Since they haven't introduced Aegon in the show, maybe they added that bit to conflate Jon and Aegon the way they did Euron and Victarion?

Hmm you may be onto something.

:hmm

So R+L=J is finally confirmed if that was ever in question. :oldrazz:

L was finally confirmed anyway. Can Bran rewind and position himself to listen to the whispering bit? I was like, what's he doing on the other end of the room!

Though, to address the elephant in the room .... the Aegon that appears in the books isn't Rhaegar Targaryen's son. He certainly thinks he is, and Jon Connington believes he is, but in all likelihood he's a Blackfyre pretender. And the show did mention that Rhaegar had a baby son named Aegon with Elia Martell.

Mostly because he's with the Golden Company, which was founded by the Blackfyres, is filled with Blackfyre loyalists, was commanded by Blackfyres, and once refused to help Viserys get the Throne back for the very reason that they don't serve the Red Dragon. Suddenly them supporting a Targaryen from Daeron's line is fishy, and Tyrion makes note of that too.

Plus there's a lot of foreshadowing scattered throughout about the Mummer's Dragon, a Black Dragon made of iron getting thrown in a river and washing up rusted and red etc. it all fits.

So now the question is is Jon's true name Aemon or Aeron? It definitely starts with an A. It sounded like Aerys but they wouldn't name him that so I'm thinking Aeron or Aemon.

Or it's Azor. He may not literally be him reborn, but he may at least have his name and in some way is loosely the prophecy coming true.

Why would Lyanna or Rhaegar name their child Azor?

True, when I first proposed they were conflating the characters I had actually forgotten they'd mentioned Aegon by name and his fate on the show.

Woah I missed all that. Yeah I did think Aegon being alive was a bit suspect, especially since Quaithe referred to him as the "mummer's dragon" which can have double meaning. I completely forgot the golden company were linked to the Blackfyres though.

Bran: Hang on, let me go back 30 seconds and put closed caption on...

King Arthur Targaryen... I mean Jon Snow... I mean Dayne... I mean conspiracy threesome!

Any chance we get the season a little bit earlier since it's going to be a shortened season?

nah... id say they will take all the time they want and may even wait until May.

No the next season will premiere in April or May, but there may be a shortened wait between Season 7 and 8. Just depends on what HBO's plans are and the production schedule. Don't get your hopes up for it, tho. If season 8 premieres early then that will be nice. If not...well at the very least the wait will be worth it.

There might be fewer episodes, but scale might go bigger, CGI might take longer to get right. Basically filming might be shorter, but the post may be much longer than it has been before.

If it is really 13 episodes only, I expect them to film them all together.

*leans in close to Cersei's ear*

"F*** more s*** up, gurl."

:lmao:

I have never cheered for her more then tonight. I was totally on her side.

I could never root for Cersei, but didn't stop me from taking satisfaction at the High Sparrow's death. Well done to Pryce there, he captured the Sparrow's final moments so well.

Felt bad for Marg, as she wasn't in any way the worst person in the game, but the game isn't merciful to those who enter it.

Found on Tumblr...

how ironic is it that jamie and cersei tried to kill bran by pushing him out a window and then their youngest son dies throwing himself out of one.

I felt bad for Marg. Losing her hurt. But she did that to herself.
