Interesting thing: Book readers were disappointed by the finale (not me as you know) but non-book readers are loving it.

I talked about the episode few days ago with some other members of TFA who got the screener, and they all loved it (and they did not read the books)

The problem is that everyone who read the books know what was not in it, and that's why they are pissed.

I try to watch the show on it's own, and not to compare it to the books.

For me is a solid 10/10.

Heh, I almost enjoyed Tywin being at a loss for words/not in control in the Cersei scene more than finally seeing him snuffed out.

I give the finale a 9.5/10. Shaved off a .5 because the Three-Eyed Crow and children looked different from what I imagined. That face Dinklage pulled after he'd killed Shae broke me. Stannis and the Dragonstone crew were in top form as well.

I liked the finale, but it just lacked a jawdropping moment like [BLACKOUT]Joffrey or Oberyn's death[/BLACKOUT], or (what hould've been featured),[BLACKOUT] Catelyn's return as Lady Stoneheart.[/BLACKOUT]


But it was a great episode with some very significance events and setups.

I think the only qualm I truly had with the episode was the Three Eyed Raven's appearance.

I believe this gem from Westeros.Org sums it up: ""Surely I'm seeing things," I thought. "There's no way that a show with an effects budget the size of a small country's GDP would turn a terrifying, ancient, all-knowing, ONE-EYED dragon-blooded sorcerer, whose existence has been played up for four seasons, into ... a kindly old man living in a cave?"

that's pretty accurate to be honest. I think they could have made him a lot creepier.

Overall I liked the episode. Still think the Stannis stuff should have been the end of last episode, and I really wished it had ended with LS, but other than that it was pretty good. There was a bit of foreshadowing in the Mountain scene for (book spoilers) [BLACKOUT]Robert Strong/UnGregor[/BLACKOUT] which I thought was neat and all the stuff with Tywin was fantastic. I loved how he just really didn't believe Tyrion was going to kill him, calling it nonsense, and then being shocked when he actually does it. Twice.

Can't wait to see broken Tyrion in Season 5.

I see a lot of people on Westeros are upset about the fireballs. Didn't the children use fire magic in the books as well? Anyway, makes you wonder if they're playing on the same team as Melly Sanders's red god.

I thought the CotF were too stereotypical sprite/fairy things. Granted, that's how I pictured them in the books but I thought D&D would have more imagination

I loved the chapter. It was quite eerie.

Ehhh, I don't know. Depends on how much time they spend introducing Dorne. Plus, there's the Greyjoy plot, which would eat up some time. They could elect to leave that out, but it's certainly an option.

Uh considering where Bran's story is, yeah they need TWOW.
