I don't think they would issue bans. If they do I'm sure if you showed them a receipt they'd be cool with it.

Anyways I have a connect that can hook me up so I'm thinking about getting the Epic edition and selling the weapon skins code... lol, I can break even that way, right?

Just pre-ordered my copy from Amazon, should get it Tuesday! Gears has always been a series that is thoroughly enjoyable to play single player but I never got into the multiplayer, I'm going to try to change that this time around.

The purchasable skins on the marketplace are going to be 320 microsoft points for an animated weapon skin for the set of 5. 240 for the static. You can also buy the collection of 21 skins for each weapon with the shotguns being combined so you'd get 42 skins in that collection for 1200 points a piece. They will not be wiping any ranks before release but before it releases in New Zealand which is the first release they'll wipe the leaderboards.

Personally, I think eurogamer does some of the most honest and on the ball reviews in the industry. Even when I don't really agree with them (Mass Effect 2) they make really good points, it's one of the few review sites I do respect. Destructiod is just bear baiting for hits, but sometimes it's amusing. I liked the "hate out of ten" title. That alone makes it worth the click.

I do kinda agree with Cliffy B there though, the fact that the same people gave Gears 2 a higher score just shows the total inconsistency in game reviews and the whole scoring system.

I'm a huge fan of 'co-optimus', I find they generally seem to have the same taste in games as me. Been waiting for their Gears review, although I already know it'll be 5/5

To be honest, I think he is just *********. When a guy is discribing himself as the Tony Stark of the gaming industry, to me, that's a massive *****e bag. Alot of reviews for gaming are very questionable. Esp the early reviews or bro sites interested in getting traffic. The fact some people are saying "i trust X review over Y review" seems to me a good thing as it shows we aren't all some collective of mindless sheep which is what the industry preys on.

If I didn't know better I'd say he was being sarcastic but reading his actual quote I think he's serious which is kind of bizarre. Who cares? That review won't be making a dent in the sheer number of people who will buy the game.

Look, if you've ever read anything about Cliffy B or the way he operates, he essentially IS the Tony Stark of the gaming industry. All he cares about is his work, he's a complete perfectionist and clearly there are some personality flaws present there, as there usually are in all people who dedicate themselves 100% to work. I understand why he would say that and react that way, because to him it's an issue of logic that does not compute. It comes off as *****ey, but I don't think it comes from a place of *****ebaggery, more blind perfectionism. I can dig that, for a guy who makes my video games, I'm more than fine with that.

I don't want to know that there's some twist that is in anyway predictable because then that will then make me try to predict it :P I want to be completely surprised by this story.

Thats why I thought it was odd that IGN posted the first 45 minutes of the campaign in a video. Why would I watch that when I can play it? How is that in interesting video to post? It's purely just capitalising on the hype of Gears to get as many web hits as they can. So tacky.

What an egomaniac. If 8/10 is the worst review you can find for your hit game, you really are a whiny kid. If you can't accept that kind of criticism you need to do something else.

Everyone is entitled to your opinion. Just because you says this is the better game than Gears 2 doesn't mean everyone has to completely agree.

I still believe Metal Gear Solid is the best MGS game.

I think its an entirely legitimate opinion and it's just human for him to feel that way about the review.... He just shouldn't have said anything. Any perfectionist or any creative type fears rejection or the idea of 'failing' at something, so it's totally understandable for him to have that reaction, but you gotta keep that stuff to yourself. Bitterness just ends up looking like amplified self pity.

I disagree. He needs to have thicker skin. It is legitimate for people to critique the game.

He's not looking at the big picture. If 8/10 is the worst review he can find, that IMHO sounds pretty damn good to me. I mean, in what book is 8/10 hater? 8/10 is actually a pretty high score on the Fratelli to Fox scale.

He doesn't NEED to have thicker skin, he'd probably be a more balanced or overall happy person if he did. You may as well say the same thing about every single comedian, writer or musician who feels the exact same way, which is a large number of people. Your opinion that he 'needs thicker skin' literally means nothing. You may as well say "He needs to be happier about things". What he needs to do is be better at not revealing too much how something is affecting him.

They gave Gears 2 a higher score when Gears 3 is the better developed, far more polished game. That doesn't make a bit of sense. He's not upset over the 8, he's mad that yet again, Eurogamer isn't giving a professional review, they're just trying to drive hits by creating a controversy.

Well like he says, it's because he knows all the work he put into Gears 3 to make it a better game and he knows it's a better game.

I've had reviews written about my stuff before and sure you get bad ones here and there but it truly cuts you to your core when you see a review or criticism that you just know is blatantly wrong. If it comes down to something subjective sure, and every bad review eventually washes away but still, it's totally normal to resent them.
