Anthony Breznican will post something tonight at midnight eastern on EW.

Ooo, well just another hour and 50 minutes.

Breznican didn't specify. Shot in the dark, Last Jedi is this week's EW cover.

On the eve of Celebration and the 40th anniversary panel, anyone want to talk or list their favorite characters, music, scenes and movies?

Favorite scene is the entire carbon chamber sequence in Empire. The Force theme is probably my favorite track from the entire saga.

Yeah, it doesn't really get better for me then Binary Sunset. The Force Theme in its many incarnations is what Star Wars "sounds like" to me.

It's tough, the Carbonite Scene is still one of my favorites for so many reasons. "The Force is with you young Skywalker...but you are not a Jedi yet..."

That whole piece of music from the Carbon Freezing of Han, to the escape of Lando and Leia is still one of my favorite tracks from SW.

But the Binary Sunset always embodies the soul of SW to me.

Making a top 10 of music is hard. It varies so much at times. Coming up with something really quick I'd probably say:

1. Binary Sunset
2. Rey’s Theme
3. The Jedi Steps and Finale
4. The Rebel Fleet/End Title
5. The Throne Room
6. Main Title
7. The Imperial March
8. Rescue from Cloud City
9. The Clash of Lightsabers
10. Princess Leia’s Theme

Another two scenes forever etched in my mind are with Yoda in ESB.

-Where he lifts the X-Wing out of the swamp.
-Where Yoda and Obi-Wan plead to Luke not to leave to confront Vader.

One of my favorite action sequences is "Fleeing Hoth/Asteroid Field" with Han. I still love the music and when Han screams: "Check the deflector shields....great...well we can still out maneuver them." then seeing the Falcon nose dive between the two Destroyers.

The hype is real.

The Force theme always gives me goosebumps. When it played in "Twin Suns" of Rebels... man, the feels.

Anyone been reading the new Thrawn book? Halfway through it... Really loving it

Favorite Characters:

OT- Luke/Han/Vader
PT-Obi Wan/Qui Gon Jinn/Darth Maul
NT-Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn.
Legends- Starkiller, Kyle Katarn, Darth Revan/Darth Bane
(Ahsoka and Thrawn too... I love a lot of charaacters.)

Favorite Scene(s)?
OT- Darth Vader vs Luke in Empire... You just can't beat it, IMO. The stand off before the fight. The dialogue "The Force is strong with you Skywalker, but you are not Jedi yet." Gives me chills. Plus the reveal... It's just perfect.

Yoda pulling out the X-Wing on Dagobah.

PT- Darth Maul vs Obi Wan

Obi Wan after defeating Anakin on Mustafar. "You were my brother" dialogue... The feels.

NT- Kylo Ren stopping Poe's Blast mid air/Kylo Ren force choke.

Got Thrawn on Tuesday but have not had time to read it.

I'm not even a big Star Wars person like Darth but that scene where Luke says "I am a Jedi...like my father before me," gets to me.

Piett's an older character but he checks out.

Yep, finished it a little while ago. It's probably in my top 3 canon books, maybe edging its way to be my favourite. If I wasn't already converted to Space!fascism I would be after reading the last 3 chapters.

Really? God damn.

And then don't you love how they follow it up with Vader's epic No and Force Ghost Hayden? :o

What are your other two favorite canon books Roose?

Also, have to love Piett getting ready for what he believes is his inevitable death at the end of Empire, only to have Vader just walk away.

Really? God damn.

Yeah, it's kind of more in the Lost Stars style where it shows the progression of a couple of characters over the course of a decade and a half through an Empire that's very humanised.

I never thought I'd say it about a novel where Grand Admiral Thrawn is the protagonist, but the ending was one of the most heartwarming things I've seen from the franchise recently.
