I wonder if the latest script keeps Oscar as Venkman's biological son.

Ghostbusters is my favorite film of all time. GB2 is somewhere in the top 15. My love of the films is why I don't want a sequel. If it sucks, it'll put a blemish on the ghostbusters name. It could still turn out to be a great movie that lives up to the originals, but i just feel like the chances of that are small.

I agree... if it's going to leave the dynasty hurting... then no thanks.

For me, it has to have the original actors back... everyone. After that, it's all about the story and why we're bringing them back. Again, if it's only to set up new Ghostbusters? That's not good enough.

I for one would love too see Ghostbusters 3 to happen.While Venkman was and is my favorite Ghostbuster, Ray was always the second favorite. I love Murray and sometimes it seems like he cares too much to see it get done jus to make money and sometimes it seems like he is a dick.Although when he come out at the spike tv scream awards in full gear i wet myself a lil. I think the idea of mentoring a new group is great, but your gonna have to find some to recapture that magic you had with the original. If baby Oscar is going to be in it he should most def be more like his daddy. Skirt chasing smart ass is a must. But I dont want any of these guys like Micheal Cera or those types. Ghostbusters might have had doctorines but they were a lil more blue collar than your average scientist. I wanna see some casting that can capture that .So I would like too see some of these names involved......

I think sometimes it would be cooler to have a live-action Ghostbusters TV show instead of a third movie. But in the end if its good them I am pleased! I miss some awesome Ghostbusters action.

i would keep oscar being venkman kid with or with bill invovlement. They can easily play into it any way they like. also saw that news of akroad mentioning some actor, dont know his work myself so i dont have much judgment on the guy he mentioned he liked.

Yeah Dana could reveal to Peter that Oskar is really his kid... it would make for good drama between Pete and Dana... but I dont think her son should overshadow the film. Maybe he could be thrown into the mix because Dana is seeking Peter out...?

I don't think the son should be exactly like Venkman. I think he should kind of be a hybrid of Egon and Venkman almost personality wise. Pretty intelligent and steadfast, but still having a deadpan wit about him. Almost like Duchovny's character in Evolution.

That'd be an intriguing idea - I just think the issue would be that the show would need a pretty big special effects budget... or just have crappy special effects.

Just thought I'd weigh in and say if they made it a few years earlier, I always though the book The Return would've made a good premise for a third flick. Lotta GB fans give it flack, but I thought it was quite good.

But I think instead of a passing of the torch movie I'd like to see the RGB character designs resurrected and put together in a third movie. Maybe have the actors voice them, and get the old RGB actors in supporting roles. That could be a fun mix.

Yeah it would need some big backing. But Ghostbusters....being Ghostbusters you would think it easy to get a big budget for special effects.

I think Aykroyd will probably get my hopes up again, but I'll keep hoping. I do agree this really needs Murray to move forward, but does Bill just want to piss off his fans? I mean his entire schtick in Zombieland was related to Ghostbusters, and he came out for those awards dressed as Venkman, but won't sign off on this? I'll keep dreaming for now.

Paul Rudd as one of the recruits would be awesome

he's roughly the same age Ayrkroyd and Co. were when the first Ghostbusters came out back in '84

I think he's a good actor though. I'd just prefer him over Michael Cera or some of the other rumors.

if it does really happen this time. i do really want the film. hopefully bill will do the film. even if its just a small cameo at start/finish of the film. i wouldnt mind that at all.

i asked this awhile back. if we do get new film i am sure the new busters at some point in the film would be rocking a new ecto mobile. What type of car/vehicle would you like to see them have?

ya rudd and segal would be great in my book, stone would be a solid female buster if that happens. As for oscar who likely be one of the other members i personally would go with maybe a unknown/up and coming actor. And have the other new busters be more known like rudd/segal/stone and the likes of them.

I really liked Dan's mention of Matthew Gray Gubler. He would be a great casting move outside of the tired suggestions from SNL and Judd Apatow movies that we've all been beating with a dead horse.

The Ghostbusters game was quite nice for nostalgia value, but even that showed very little in the way of interesting or fresh material. I see no potential in a new film in all honesty.

I love Ghostbusters 1&2 but some things are better left alone.

I would imagine that there would be two girls & two guys. One nerdy type girl I guess Stone can be & then the hot one. I guess Oscar can be the guy that is not that popular in school but has a sense of humor after hanging around Venkman for so long & then a Jock can be the second guy who does the usual changes his ways by the end of the movie
