Just think...in 2020 we'll still all be on the Hype talking about how Ghostbusters 3 might be starting up.

I'll just say it: just reboot Ghostbusters! GB3 ain't gonna happn, Murray won't be in it so it can't be the same without him. Just reboot, not remake, Ghostbusters. If an exec sees this, get in touch ith me, I have ideas.

They should just make another game, IMO. Not Sanctum of Slime.

this!

i loved the GB that came out 3 years ago. felt like what GB 3 would have been. i'd like in the sequel though to be able to play as 1 of the 4 guys though rather than a recruit.

I often wondered what the end result would be had the storyline for the video game was made into an actual movie, intead of the video game

and watch, they finally get a script good enough to get Murray back...and the next day he dies. foiled again.

It'd actually work out for the best, he'd play the ghost at zero cost, just like he wanted.

I agree. And I have to say, this guy would be perfect for Peter.......

Ghostbusters 3 Looking to Film Summer 2013
Bill Murray not expected to return at all.

Word has it Ghostbusters 3 will finally shoot next year after a dog's age in development hell.

Buried in this Deadline article about Paramount putting director Ivan Reitman's Draft Day, starring Kevin Costner, in turnaround is a tidbit about when the long-gestating threequel might finally go before cameras:

"Paramount chose not to make it in the small window that Reitman has before he is expected to finally get the long-gestating Ghostbusters reboot in front of the cameras next summer for Sony Pictures (sans Bill Murray). ... It would be tough to find room to squeeze in the football film and get done before Reitman goes back to Ghostbusters duty. Paramount insiders tell me that if the film can’t happen in this nearly impossibly short window, the studio could simply hang on to Draft Day, and make it after Reitman and Costner finish their obligations."

So with a summer 2013 film date (which is good for actors who are on television) Sony would release it likely summer 2014.

Sony has TASM2 at this point and who knows that could get pushed back and nothing else slated for that summer.

April

• Robopocalypse (BV) - 4/25

May
• The Amazing Spider-Man #2 (3D) (Sony) - 5/2
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) (Par.) - 5/16
• Untitled Godzilla Project (WB) - 5/16
• Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Fox) - 5/23
• The Good Dinosaur (BV) - 5/30

June
• Ghostbusters 3 (Sony) - 6/6
(potential release date)
• How to Train Your Dragon 2 (Fox) - 6/20
• Transformers 4 (Par.) - 6/27

July
• The Hobbit: There and Back Again (WB) - 7/18
• Untitled X-Men Sequel (Fox) - 7/18

August
• Guardians of the Galaxy (BV) - 8/1

If Sony used a June 6, 2014 release date, it would be one day off from the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters and ten days off from the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters II.

Now that's what I call development hell!

Just can't see this working without Murray, sorry. He was the star of the movie and its comedic center. They won't be able to replace him.

And I love the idea of RDJ as Peter, but they'd be hard pressed to make it believable that Dana would ever turn down the advances of someone that hot. :) Venkman was a rumpled, cynical goofball, and I'm not sure RDJ can pull off rumpled, cynical goofball. He could sure do the snark, though! :) I'd love to see him go up against Walter Peck from the EPA...

RDJ would make an awesom Peter Venkman if they ever did a live action " Real Ghostbusters " movie.

ugh no reboots. :down Let Ray, Egon and Winston pass the torch to a new (hopefully good) team and go from there.

The idea of someone else playing Venkman makes me shudder. No thanks.

Thinking RDJ can't pull something off?!?!? Seriously?? Bollocks

RDJ as a new recruit would work, but NOT as Venkman

either Bill Murray plays Venkman or write out the character completely

or even better, DON'T DO THE MOVIE!
