Well,Murrey gets his way.Can't see GB3 happening now.I wanted a GB 3,but my heart wouldn't be in it at this point,without Egon.:csad:

Terrible news. Egon was one of my favourite characters. I shall miss Harold Ramis. He was a good actor and director.

I definitely do not want to see another ghostbusters film now that he has gone...

If there was any doubt that a third film would happen, it's a done deal now.

:( Egon was always my favorite Ghostbuster. I had trepidation about GB3 before this with all the Murray drama, but now, I really hope they just let it go.

GB3, as far as I'm concerned, could've worked without Murray.

But Ramis? Nah.

I think a reboot would be a horrible idea... just make it Ghostbusters 3, a straight up sequel to GB2 but with a new cast.

If they remade Ghostbusters (meaning new actors in the Venkman, Stantz, etc. roles)... I would be royally annoyed...

Both are bad ideas. Some things are just better off left alone, and now that we've lost Egon, I can't imagine another installment.

Well I think its safe to say this project may have just died with Ramis. Still extremely sad that he passed. He had some great roles post Caddyshack and Ghostbusters too.

Given the circumstances, as sad a day as this is, I think we'll be hearing about a reboot fairly soon.

I woke up this morning to a text from my mom. I am so unbelievably sad over this. Like, no other celebrity death has ever made me this sad. Other times its like "Oh damn! Did you hear who died??!" My immediate response to this was "Noo!!!!!!" An no, not because GB3 although that thought entered my head, I wasn't holding out hope for it anyways. This is the ****ing bummer of the year :( RIP Ramis

i am so happy that they didnt make a bad sequel. can you imagine if the bad sequel was realesed in 2012 or 2013 and now he would die?

What if it had been good. I definitely wish we got some more Egon before Ramis died. Now it's a wash. When Murray turned it down there was always false hope he would surprise cameo. Now it's over . We'll never see them reunited again. I still think they can do a sequel but how long would it be to write another script. Maybe it's for the best.

"No pills, no powders, if it grows from the ground it's okay."

One of my favorite comedy quotes and it was spouted by none other than Egon himself.

RIP my friend, one of the few celeb deaths that has hit me.

I bet he finally witnessed what a giant twinkie looks like in person. Who knows, maybe Slimer took it from him...

I think that's unlikely given who owns the rights to the franchise and characters.

Egon was a must. I know Venkman makes or breaks it for some fans, but Egon was the man who made it all come together. He pretty much took leadership in the field while Peter was the spokesman for the general public, and not having him there in a final passing of the torch....no.

From what I've been learning of Ramis' condition, he was pretty sick. I'd rather they never did the movie than try it and have Ramis in there without being able to do all he wanted to do. It would have been too sad, so I'm fine with the fact that they didn't try to make the movie.

Man, reading back through this thread is making me tear up so bad. I can't believe Egon is gone....

I was always of the opinion that Egon was the glue that held the team together, even though they worked well together without him I think Ray would have struggled to contain Venkman because I don't think he took Ray as seriously. I always felt like Venkman would take Egon more seriously than Ray.

aw man, this pic is so depressing :csad:

i don't think a celebrity death has ever hit me as hard as Harold Ramis'

the man was a comedic legend responsible for giving us some of the funniest movies ever. the man was one talented individual that will be greatly missed.

RIP Dr. Spengler

I was just there this last week and it feels so surreal to me. When I knocked on the door they wouldn't let me come in they said because it's an active firehouse. This is today and I'm so happy to see they did this in respect to Harold, so a awesome.

The photo below I took myself from the window, looks like they polished this baby off before they put her out today.

Nice, but too bad they didn't have the original one.

Fans have been leaving flowers and twinkies at the firehouse

Haha I've been seeing a lot of people say that, the one they have was given to the firehouse after filming the second film ended as a memento, I was happy just to see that they still had something there from the films, it's the only memorabilia left on site.

They even had Egon as the only one left in the sequel to the cartoon. :(
