Ghostbusters 3 - Part 2

Screw that too. I think that would a lot worse.

Nah. Ghostbusters has kinda faded away from the public consciousness over the past decade or so. A lot of kids and teens today have never even seen it, let alone knowing who the four Ghostbusters are. They might know about Murray, but he won't be involved, and another of the actors has now passed. While we know the film will already be a passing of the torch kinda thing, the other two (Dan Aykroyd and...?) will just be awkwardly 'there' with only nostalgic 80's nerds recognising them. It's not like Star Wars Episode VII where you can bring back a bunch of old actors and everybody already knows who they are and loves those characters. That franchise is still relevant. Ghostbusters isn't.

With a reboot you have the opportunity to bring a classic into the modern world and make it fresh enough that everyone will love it. Get someone like James Gunn, Edgar Wright or Lord/Miller and it would be brilliant. Personally I don't mind either way, I haven't seen the original, but I think a clean reboot would be a lot better than an awkward, delayed sequel that only a tiny percentage of the audience would enjoy.

If you're going to reboot it then just take the concept. Don't take the name.

If they do go ahead with this film, they certainly shouldn't call it GB 3,Just call it Ghostbusters: The Next Generation or whatever. If Ray and possibly Winston are the only GB's remaining,it's not really a GB 3.

I don't know i agree with that, though i feel like it'll be a rabbit hole type discussion that'll go on forever.

Agreed. Without Ramis or Murray...there isn't really a Ghostbusters story there I'm interested in.

I would have to agree with this to the fullest extent, I know the studio is going to make it regardless but I have no interest in seeing new modern day actors as Ghostbusters.

Since Dan AKyroyd Is likely the only actor In it they should make this an
outright reboot with him doing a cameo.

If this is a reboot then no cameos should be in it from the previous movies

I'd be down for Wes Anderson. He could do truly bizarre things with the setting, has a great sense of humour, and Bill Murray would have no choice about appearing lol.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller Eyed for Ghostbusters Reboot

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=116264

Earlier this week came the announcement that Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman was stepping down from the helm of the long-gestating Ghostbusters 3 following the death of Harold Ramis. Now, Nikki Finke reports that directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in talks to helm the project.

Lord and Miller have made quite a splash in recent years with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 2009, 21 Jump Street in 2012 (which will see a sequel released later this year) and their most recent hit, The LEGO Movie. All of Lord and Miller's previously-released films have gone on to gross over $200 million at the global box office.

Set to begin production next year in New York City, the storyline is rumored to focus on a new generation of Ghostbusters with cameos from the original stars written into the script.

Now, get Hill and Tatum as two of the new 'Busters. Not joking.

Well if they're directing. I'm certainly interested. Those guys can do no wrong. Also Chris Pratt would be a good choice.

Yes, please.

Jonah Hill has been rumored to be involved/in talks for a role in this for years.

Not really.

He's been rumored FOREVER, along with every other comedic actor in Hollywood, but it's never been true according to..... well..... everyone.

Chris Pratt or Channing, but not both. There's really only need for one "bro-dude" in the movie.

Hill and Hader would be good additions. So would Donald Glover.

WOW. Just got excited about this again for the first time in a long time.

After the Watch, I'm pretty sure Hill is over any more paranormal team comedy films.

The best in a bad situation. Might end up working out for the best.

That film is a perfect example to me, why a Ghostbusters movie made in modern day with current modern comedians won't work the way everyone thinks it will.
