I mean... I don't really buy the whole concept of resurrecting an franchise after a significant number of years just for a reunion. Indiana Jones did it..wasnt good. Men and Black 3...meh and if Ghostbussters 3 was gonna happen, it needs to be a reboot
If yoyure bringing back peeps like Sig Weaver then it won't work.
Sure you might get the 80s hype but you're not gonna get good ratings after all this

I think McCarthy is hilarious and the more dudebros that get angry over her inclusion the better. And that is probably the only satisfaction I'll get out of this.

I also like the fact that she seems to have few boundaries when it comes to comedy. She's like a funny Margaret Cho.

Ok, regardless of my lack of excitement for GB3, I'm gonna say a few things about this.
First off, Indy 4 may be the black sheep (although ToD still seems more disliked in some circles), but it made a lot of money. Men in Black 3 was a far leap better than MIB2, and got a lot of good word of mouth for it. So despite it not always being the best idea, I think it has a perfectly fine shot of being an ok film. As long as the remaining original cast reprises their roles in some capacity, then I don't see an issue.

Regarding the bolded point, why won't Sigourney Weaver work? She's been doing a lot of work in these last few years, even being in some pretty strange roles, like the small but interesting one in Cabin in the Woods. She still looks great, she's always been a great actress, why shouldn't she come back for GB3? Honestly all I'd ask is the haunting/god/ancient evil doesn't revolve around her this time.

Honestly, besides of course them just making a bad film, the only thing I see hurting it is the hype.

been binge watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and i think the entire gang would be perfect for a Ghostbusters reboot. Mac, Dennis, Charlie, Dee, and Frank all have such awesome chemistry and their type of humor would translate well in the Ghostbusters universe. have Dennis, Mac, Charlie and Dee be the core of the team with Frank having a supporting role or a cameo. i know, it's all wishful thinking

at least have one or two from the gang be new recruits in the movie

Jesus christ. For an industry that loves reboots and remakes, they absolutely REFUSE to do the one reboot thats BEGGING to be done.

Also, an all female Ghostbusters film would not work. Not at all.

There is no way you can work that premise where it will be successful. Now a female led GB film? That can work. But an all female version? HELL NO.

The only to do this film is to do it in the style of Extreme Ghostbusters. Hell, they should base it on that. The premise will already be very similar if they make this, so why not? That show had great, varied characters. And not only did you have a female on the team, but you had another black guy, a latino, and a guy in a wheelchair.

It writes itself. Just use Ray instead of Egon.

It respects the original, but it still its own thing. You don't need to do a full on reunion or have a crazy gimmick like making it all female.

I'll say one thing in McCarthy's favor,she'd be the 'realistic' choice.She looks like she could handle a Proton Pack.

I don't think they should do anything Ghosbusters. The original movie is just ****ing amazing and Ghostbusters II is great too. Hollywood needs to learn that sometimes its OK to just let a franchise exist as it is.

It's okay to continue a franchise as well. Even if Ghostbusters 3 sucks the originals are still there. If it's good then you have another Ghostbusters film to enjoy.
