Ghostbusters 3 - Part 3

I like these actresses AND Paul Feig, so I have a feeling I'll enjoy this movie. I also have a feeling it won't remotely feel like Ghostbusters to me. And as long as I don't go into it expecting it to recapture that specific Ghostbusters magic, that's just fine.

I think they realized they couldn't make a proper sequel and decided to start from scratch. I can't say I blame them. Yes it's a little heartbreaking, but it was never going to be the same without half the cast.

People are saying lazy cash grab. To me it seems harder to start from scratch and go against type. That doesn't seem lazy. Also a cash grab would of been making a sequel years ago. This is rebooting a property that's been dormant for a long time and really what studio isn't in the business of making money. It would of been crazy to let Ghostbusters fade away forever

So Murray may appear but Peter would be a villain in this!? Pfft

At Least the Fanatic Four movie reboot maintains the EXISTENCE of Reed, Johnny, Susan and Ben . At least the Batman reboots actually keep Bruce Wayne as a character. At least the Spider-man reboots maintain Peter Parker as a character.
I could go on and on.

In names only

This will be garbage and the cast is garbage. Everyone is tired of the fat flubber schtick and 2 are awful SNL cast members. I like Kristen but she's not going to keep this together. This will be garbage guaranteed. To all the people saying just wait and watch...see you when this turd hits theaters.

Yeah , this was reported several months ago and even with the stamp of approval from Bill Murray. It opens next year on the same weekend as the Power Rangers and King Arthur reboots.

And that's where my money's going to.

See SuperT, I am getting over myself: by not giving Sony my money to this film. I'd be a lil ok with it if it was a West Coast based GBs (while our familars on the East still intact) but as ot stands, no bueno

I hope it's a hit. At least that will continue the brand and maybe a more agreeable Ghostbusters will be made somewhere down the line.

My Lord, between this, the ridiculous Indy recast idea and that awful FFINO trailer today has been a death blow for quality entertainment.

January 27, 2015 = Black Tuesday II (because why the hell not? sequels and reboots for everyone!)

When she's not doing the vulgar "fatty go boom" (which makes money), Melissa McCarthy is likeable and charming. I'm pretty sure Sony's going to keep this PG-13, so swearing will be minimal.

I can see why people are turning their noses up at this, but I don't think this will be a bad movie. Anyone knows that doing a sequel 20 years later doesn't always work... look at Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It's better going on a clean slate, with a mixed track record.

I'm snowed in , so maybe it's cabin fever , but I've enjoyed all this unexpected entertainment news being dropped. Hype going up .. on a Tuesday (god , I hate that song)

McCarthy was hilarious in The Heat. And I liked her in Bridesmaids too. I wish she'd do more comedy like that instead of Tammy and Identity Thief

I agree

Also. Kitster IS NOT Impressed. :o

I seriously can not believe they're moving forward with this movie. The entire concept sounds absolutely abysmal.

I'm ok with this, I loved the originals, and I guess I don't see any harm to the original movies from this.

My only hope is that Leslie Jones brings something more to the group than this

can you all imagine next year fans complaining that the only reason the movie underperformed was because of the female cast. :)

Exactly, and I'm not afraid to say that a lot of this is due to sexism.

Some no doubt have that agenda, but I can think of at least ten other females I would have preferred in the role's to get my interest in a franchise I used to love, and happily spent money on to watch.

It worked for Oliver Hardy :p

For me it has nothing to do with sexism but more so the fact that these actresses are not funny or have over stayed there theatrical welcome. Its ok to be fat and be funny but mccarthy uses her weight comedic wise terribly and it comes off annoying.

The casting announcements, aside from McCarthy, leave me cold.

Other than her tired ComicView material she brought along with her to SNL when Lorne hired her? Don't bet on it
