i don't mind the casting decisions. i don't have an irrational hate for mccarthy, Wiig and jones are cool, mckinnon is ****ing hilarious, but... i really wanted GB3. :csad: I hope that universe isn't completely scrapped. i still hope stantz, venkman, and zeddmore suit up again.

I'm mostly concerned about the script side of things. One of the writers wrote a bunch of episode of Parks and Recreation, which is somewhat encouraging I suppose, but overall there aren't a lot of stellar credits on either of the two writers.

i hope they will try to make it as different as possible. the original movie still holds up. no reason to remake it.

The plot sounds horrible, tell me if you've heard this one, two former colleagues had a falling out a long time ago and are now reunited because of some event. gtfo.

They are obviously aren't there for their sexiness factor all of those actresses are fugly.

Bill Murray as the villain and not Venkman???? What. The. F---!!!

And please don't do this Peter Dinklage, please don't go from Game of Thrones to X-Men to this garbage.

I'm hoping this fails worse than FFINO

Like the actresses. Looking forward to the trailer to get a feel of the movie. Could be an interesting movie in its own right, though I doubt it can recapture the original Ghostbusters magic without the original characters involved.

So Murray may appear but Peter would be a villain in this!? Pfft

He wouldn't even be playing Peter.

Either way though...... if he does this, he'll prove hmself to be a supreme level ******* for never doing a proper GB3 with Ramis and Akyroyd.

The entire original cast was willing to come back, and the fan demand was there, but the studio refused to do it without Murray, who refused to sign off on the script. For him to do this would be slap in the face to everyone who wanted to get GB3 made.

I'm a bit past the whole forcing all females thing. I still have a small hope for a multidimensional sort of setup, just because I know it's close to ideas Dan had for the original, which were never explored in the movies. I know the game got to incorporate them.

My beef is that Melissa and Kristen feel like somewhat uninspired choices. Both are talented, but I have no reason to believe Melissa will extend her range beyond the typical overweight buffoon she's played in films. I have flat out not enjoyed a single thing I've seen from Leslie Jones on SNL. I really don't find her funny, but that show has been more miss than hit, so it may be the writing. Still have no expectations from her. Kate McKinnon got a fist pump from me. I hadn't considered her being in the movie, so it was pleasant to see her name. I love her on SNL. I get excited whenever she shows up, because she gets a laugh every time. She's got a range of skills, so I'm curious to see what she can do in a 2 hour feature film.

Now that the big four casting is out of the way, there's story, tone, production design, and the like to focus on.

Society needs less people like you.

Yes, it is a standard and functional narrative conceit. What of it?

They're there for their acting factor. That's what you hire actresses for.

1: You've never heard of actors playing multiple rolls before?

2: How does Bill Murray as the villain not sound awesome?

And please don't do this Peter Dinklage, please don't go from Game of Thrones to X-Men to this garbage.

It's garbage because they cast actresses you don't want to **** and they cast Bill Murray in a roll that he'd be well suited or?

Neither movie has come out yet.

I mean Im lukewarm on this but yeah the bolded is kinda messed up

They weren't hiring actresses for their looks, they were going for the same thing Reitman did in the first, average looking guys/chicks that get sucked into saving the city or the world. McKinnon is the only one that could be deemed I guess..."hot" by default standards, but whatever.

Well, if he really didn't like the scripts he got for GB3, can you blame him?

The actresses aren't the problem. It's Paul Feig. If this film looks like Spy or The Heat, we're in trouble. Go back to the original Ghostbusters and it looks like a horror film.

Eh, not really.

Yeah I never got that it was shot like a horror movie at all.

As a kid seeing this in the theatre it had its scary moments. The ghost librarian, Zuul taking over Dana, even Vinz Clortho chasing Louis down was suspenseful in parts.

It had its horror elements, but it was a fantasy comedy at the core. It wasn't supposed to be 100% scary, the stakes are serious but the people dealing with them aren't.

Neither movie has come out yet.

That's the same plot that's been used in those types of comedies over and over again. been there done that, come up with something new.

You think those SNL girls are some genius comedic actresses? No they're average at best. McCathey's shtick wore thin a long ass time ago, the only one that is decent is Wiig. Not funny and not good looking.

In the same "franchise"?? Listen to yourself. This is not a good idea at all. Bill Murray in the Ghostbusters world (movies, videogames) IS Peter Venkman, to put him in a different role is a slap in the face to fans (like me) who grew up watching these movies from a young age and especially a slap in the face to Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and especially Harold Ramis(RIP) who wanted to do a third one but never could because of Murray.

No it's garbage because they're sh__ing all over an iconic franchise, because people have been wanting a third one for years and only after Ramis passed away are they doing something with this, it's garbage because this is a complete reboot with no connection to the old ones, it's garbage because of the cast (yes they're average actresses at best and they are not attractive at all) and it's garbage because of the director.

you really should stop mentioning how you don't find the women attractive because it comes off as unnecessary and misogynistic

THey also said they were going to try making this film scarier, the look in Paul Feig's other films was suited for their stories, but i'm hopeful they will go for a different look.

Wait, what? We have a talented cast of funny ladies and a decent director. How the heck is any of this a disaster?

Oh, internet.
I knew straight away when this was confirmed because the internet was screaming. And I wasn't near a computer to hear it.

I was fine with the all-female cast thing, but I think Wiig and McCarthy are mediocre at best and Bridesmaids was one of the most overrated films of the past decade. I don't know the other two actresses.

Not at all.

This must be the worst casting in the history of bad castings.

Bridesmaids....now with ghosts

I hate when Hollywood pulls this crap, of using the same duo because it worked in another movie....and this just shows that the movie is going to be horrendous, because they are more interested in the "reunion" than the Ghostbusters themselves.
