Ghostbusters 3 - Part 4

I sincerely hope this movie succeeds. It would be a big win for the industry in casting a female cast like this. It won't be THE big thing that will change everything, but it will contribute to more hopeful wins eventually and to let studios be less afraid for movies like this.

I'm not that interested in this but that doesn't stop it ultimately being a good and helpful thing in the long term. Though this sounds better than what Ghostbusters 3 would have been so if this is good I'm just rooting for a successful Ghostbusters film.

For ****'s sake, if they can do better than Ghostbusters 2 pink slime, then this is already a win for me.

More pics.

Dan Aykroyd's endorsement from earlier this week:

“[It’s] going to be hot!” says Aykroyd, admitting that, as EP, he’s now a “cheerleader” for the franchise. “The new one’s going to be big! The interplay, and with each of them, their individual voices are so well defined. They’re just such different characters, and there’s a friction. There’s a dynamic there. I’m not going to spoil it for people, but it’s going to be big, big! …This is all going to introduce [the franchise] to a whole new generation of girls that are going to want to be Ghostbusters. We always needed them.”

Yeah, I know, two women walking down the street. HOW ****ING TERRIBLE!

I know right?! :cwink:

In all seriousness, I'm inclined to believe this is a flashback sequence given Wiig's appearance in the other set pic.

Although I could say the same for McKinnon.

Don't like Wiig's look. Is she playing this serious, with a comedic role, or being overly dramatic to the point of cheesy like that Lifetime movie?

Dammit, I'm excited seeing these photos. The Hemsworth news got me to turn the corner, now it's real. So what the f*** if they're all girls? It's the freaking Ghostbusters. I love Kate's look. Feels very cartoon to me, in the best way.

I'm actually interested in this film but Aykroyd's endorsement doesn't mean much.

Really hard to judge a film after one day of shooting. I have my doubts but lets wait for a trailer to survey the damage

Endorsements in general don't mean anything.

I don't necessarily agree with that, but endorsements don't make a film better or worse. What they can do is give you a positive or negative impression given your thoughts on the person giving the endorsement or the content of their statement.

See, I disagree with that. You should be able to form you own perception given with what's presented to you, not what someone else thinks or feels. Granted, when it comes to entertainment, they're mostly PR.

Also, with Dan Aykroyd he's a producer on this and he still holds ownership within the franchise but I love how enthusiastic he is when it comes to Ghostbusters and he is the franchise creator, so I always get a kick out of reading his comments.

I see what you're saying, but in general people are going to be influenced by different opinions and experiences. If not then our customs and believes wouldn't really exist or evolve lol.

Oh, I agree, I can only speak for myself. :)

I kinda dig it. Kate's look is pretty wacky. I don't know that the film needed to be made, but **** it. I'm in.

This is the approach I've decided to take. And hell, the 1984 GB isnt even the true original anyway. So Ghostbusters, as a concept, is familiar with radical reinventions.

Its best to take this latest one as it is. And if its good, its good. Its just another addition in GB history. And if it sucks, everyone who said it shouldn't be made was right and can boast.

I think what's happening is that Sony told him to keep his lips sealed after Ernie started making comments (then quickly retracted them), then cut a deal with him and Ivan so they can do more than just a female reboot with the franchise. Basically, you can't talk trash about one element of the new shared universe and compliment what YOU want because it's bad business. So I can see why Dan is promoting the hell out of this project, so he can do what he wants with it right after Feigbusters gets released.

Dan was the only person out of this entire situation that hasn't made an immediate comment directly after the announcement of the reboot that has nothing to do with the originals, he started making comments after this "Ghost Corps" deal was made.

wonder how much money Sony forked over to Dan to be saying that
