Well, glad I got to see the whole movie a month early since I'll be left behind without a streaming option and it'll be spoiled since I won't be able to catch it theaters.
What did you think of it? Is it funny or lean too much into the nostalgia?

This really does look like a blast. Still curious to how the OG cast fits into it, but frankly how I've half-forgotten they're even in it is a really good sign for how compelling the grandkid's story looks.

I keep forgetting we're getting a new Ghostbusters.

So Paul Rudd is going to be chased by giant ghost ants isn't he?

The Haslab thing was a cool idea at first but they just seem to be greedy now. The prices and frequency have crept up and it looks like gouging to me.

I was feeling sort of the opposite way about this one given that when the cosplayers sell their packs they're often asking $1500 plus

The asking price is high but for what Haslab does it makes sense. You have to take into consideration that the toy industry has been struggling thanks in no small part to kids choosing to play on tablets and phones instead and the downfall of Toys R Us. If they made a specialty item like that proton pack for less than half of what they're asking, they'd end up losing way more money given the additional cost of production and shipping. Also, everything they've made so far have been really big items that retail stores don't have the shelf space for. Less shelf space = less units sold = less money made. The way I see it, I don't think it's gouging or greed in this particular instance. Hasbro definitely gouges prices elsewhere, like how they charge $50 for a Marvel Legends two pack of 6-inch figures. But with Haslab, they're putting feelers out there for who wants it and if there aren't enough backers then they scrap the whole thing and nobody gets charged for it. As it is, people are willing to spend that much for it so I say let them have at it. It's not like there aren't much cheaper alternatives out there anyway:

To be fair, I'm less bothered by the pack than other recent decisions from Haslab, and not actually bothered in the slightest. It just seems like ambitions have slid since that huge SW sail barge. And I think that 'made to order' factor is somewhat abused by a company as dominant as Hasbro. They're rarely making something so obscure they couldn't sell it, they never seem to struggle for backers. A limited run gives them an opportunity to charge a premium and spread the fear of missing out.
