He’ll still be hired in future projects. He’s been like this for decades.

I’d be okay with Murray if this was strictly past behavior that he eventually apologized for, but given that it still remains to be an issue, I don’t see turning the other cheek as a viable option.

At this point, we don’t even know what it is. A complaint that is being investigated so let’s wait at least until even a detail about it comes out lol

This article is from a few days ago that gives some details.

Bill Murray allegedly 'handsy' with women on Aziz Ansari set

Not condoning what he did because it's still inappropriate but it's pretty far from Weinstein or Cosby behavior, which means that if nothing else comes from this I don't see him being dropped from future projects.

So long as the film's story is told through Pheobe's eyes again, I'd be all for a sequel. Would love to see it set in the heart of New York again perhaps recruiting a new team & setting up shop.

Outside of Pheobe + her mother & brother, I'd like Paul Rudd's character, who's name alludes me currently, back & maybe Podcast.

From the original Ghostbusters, I think Winston & Ray are the 2 most natural to come back in perhaps similar capacity, maybe slightly larger this time around just not to be in the field Ghostbusters.

Venkman I wouldn't really be too fussed about for anything more than a cameo, not because of these Bill Murray allegations, but for the simple fact that I don't recall his character really having anything mentioned going, whereas Winston was running a bank I believe & Ray still had his shop, both of which could serve a purpose in a sequel.

Hopefully we get Oscar in the sequel. He’d be in his early to mid 30s so he can kinda serve as a new mentor and be key in helping build a new team

Also, would love to have Samhain be the new villain

Great news on the sequel. Like the majority here, I don't think we need Venkman back. Stantz and Zeddemore would be great though, especially if Ernie Hudson can get a lot to do. And a new villain would be welcomed.

New mythology surrounding ghosts/paranormal activity would be welcomed. GBII usually gets the short end of the stick but that river of slime thing was creepy and ingenious. They need to create some new stuff like that.
And yeah, NY setting with both original and new Ghostbusters with equal screen time is probably the way to go.

Wow didn’t know about the Murray stuff but it’s doesn’t look like it will harm his career. I hope he apologises and everyone can move on as I want to see him in the next GB movie if possible. The tease of Dana and him together in that post credit scene was just too good.

Venkemen being Venkemen was a big turn off of Murray returning, so **** him.

No sequel for years, people begging for him back - he comes back - everyone cheers...

It's recently made public he allegedly did something someone felt uncomfortable with, now no one wants him back.... cancel culture at it's finest.

Personally, I want Winston and Ray to head an extreme ghostbusters style set up.. I want Venkman involved but it's not crucial, so there's that...

The kids... I haven't even watched this movie, just because I don't wanna watch/pay for a kid centric movie.. but I will give it a go - but moving forward, Winston starting it back up, he won't hire kids, they will be around, but not part of the new crew.

It's actually a shame because if the 2016 mess never occurred, McKinnon and Wiig would have been a great pairing to Ray and Winston - John Boyega too.

Yeah, its rough. Actors can't be *******s on set anymore. They have to work nicely with others, like everyone else with a job.

I think you can find my review of the movie that said that I didn't like Venkmen being Venkmen.

I want Venkman involved as I want to see more Dana and maybe even an Oscar appearance as an adult.

But yeah Afterlife did establish Ray and especially Winston as being more important to the new team.

Looking forward to seeing what they do with this. I think the new movies are more about Phoebe than anyone else so I'm sure they'll center the sequel around her. Murray might put in a few appearances but I think Ray and Winston will be a lot more involved.

I want to see them follow up on the after credit scene.

Winston reopening the franchise and taking it global. It's what I've always wanted. More Ray and Janine too.

Also, Paul Rudd would make a great Ghostbuster. His character was taylor made for it.

That really depends if Sony ups the budget for the sequel and by how much. A New York City based sequel would be wonderful but expensive. I know they felt burned by how much the 2016 version ended up costing.

After watching Afterlife again tonight I so hope they stick with the mix of practical and CGI effects as it’s just the best way IMO.

Afterlife looks great on 4K. :)

I was able to snag the uber 4K box set before it sold out:

It's LOADED with extras. Pretty badass.

Yeah Bill Murray's behavior causing a film production to halt is a dreaded cancel culture problem and totally not a Bill Murray behavior problem.

For me, while Murray is obviously a big part of this franchise's history, I'm more than okay with moving on at this point. GB simply has to exist beyond the cast from 40 years ago, and Murray is a big part of why there wasn't a reunion for everybody, holding on to a grudge against Harold Ramis until the man was on his death-bed.
