I just wonder what was stuck in the ghost trap machine at the end of the 2nd credits screen. I imagine it's Viggo but we need a new villain before re-visiting a previous one IMO.

And I agree with the poster who said this looks great in 4K!

Yeah Bill Murray's behavior causing a film production to halt is a dreaded cancel culture problem and totally not a Bill Murray behavior problem.

For me, while Murray is obviously a big part of this franchise's history, I'm more than okay with moving on at this point. GB simply has to exist beyond the cast from 40 years ago, and Murray is a big part of why there wasn't a reunion for everybody, holding on to a grudge against Harold Ramis until the man was on his death-bed.

Until we hear what officially happened, until charges are pressed.... I'm not buying into the hype train. The production was halted, to determine if true or not - that's typical I would say, to prove innocence or guilt. Huge difference in is actions halting a production or someones allegations halting the production. To me, the bloke is a great actor, we don't know the full story - when we do, then cancel the mofo if that's the case.

Good suggestion but him disappearing at the end suggests the end of the road for him I would imagine.

I don't think productions are typically halted over accusations. We've heard countless stories of nightmare sets, awful behaviour and so on, normally after the fact. I find it hard to believe that a shoot would be delayed, and money wasted, unless there was significant reason to do so.

By all means, wait til/if we hear more before deciding what you think of Murray's actions there, but in the context of this thread, no-one has to form a final verdict on this case now, and sadly there's plenty of reasons for GB fans to be over Bill being involved in this series.

Each to their own, I haven't heard of his past issues - I do not doubt people have their reasons to dislike him, I just haven't seen what they have seen - that's fine. If something comes out and is made public that he did something that would in other professions get you fired, suspended, overlooked for promotion etc, ofcourse, that would be on him and as a consequence a lack of work/respect in the industry. As I have previously said, if he's in it, nice... if not, it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

I do feel it's kinda funny, however, reading some of these posts, then reading the Ezra Miller thread. Even my own biases, naivety has me wanting Ezra gone but then again, he has been arrested and exposed multiple times.

you are right, people shouldn't be allowed to get away with it... should your anger also be at the people that let them get away with it - putting others at risk? Don't watch any more of their productions as a form of protest perhaps...

Maybe Murray just has a good pr machine as I haven't read up on anything of him being 'that' kind of person... I can see how he can be difficult on set, demanding etc.. but a real life 'Big Ern' - didn't see that coming...

I honestly have no desire to see the original cast again. We scratched the itch in the last movie, but honestly they were used as such a last minute hasty way, that it didn’t really make sense story wise.

I think Ray is in a perfect position for a small role, as a source of wacky knowledge and exposition. Winston has been set up as a boss of sorts as well. Venkman never gave a crap about busting ghosts, so Afterlife is as good a place as any to leave it be. I'm all for newer characters at this point.

I gotta agree, it's Ray's baby - he's the quirky scientist behind the scenes and Winston Is the heart stringing it together fronting the 'rebirth' - let's get a couple more adult recruits and boom, extreme ghostbusters is born.
Venkman worked in the original as the skeptic, his humour was needed, now, a skeptic wouldn't be part of the team moving forward.

Let's have some new vehicles, new ghosts and new adventures.

... No it wasn't. Bill Murray has literally come out and said he did something he thought was funny over a disagreement he had with a female co-worker. He said he's working things out with the lady in question, and he's learned from the experience.

It's not an allegation. By definition. It's something he did that he has admitted to doing. There's nothing alleged about it.

She called him out, she made allegations - they halted, they investigated, it forced his hand (that's often why that happens) he responded to those allegations, apologized of sorts, claiming it was a joke, she also stated online about a few other issues, calling him out, professionalism etc - brave move - it's now down to her, the production team how to move forward. It's that simple.

To be honest, this seems way better handled than the wholeWB, Whedon, Ray Fisher scenario - heck, even better than the Ezra Miller saga.

Yeah, sounds like things are being handled maturely and professionally. I assume production will start up again, and he’s grown as a person because of it to be more sensitive towards whatever joke he made.

It’s really if she’s willing to forgive him and move forward. No other opinion matters in the end.

Yeah, he presented well there... let's be honest, we can relate, he's successful, he's long in the tooth, it's easy to get cocky, get demanding but I really think the key is and he nailed it - if the other person feels uncomfortable, even if they may be over sensitive or whatever, that's not for the person to determine, but to make the person feel better and make it right for them.. I took a lot from that.. I can feel I was funny, know I was right... but if the other person isn't on that wave length, you got issues.

He's dealt with the fallout about as well as you could. Seems reflective, receptive to the criticism, open to the possibility of improving and/or understanding the other perspective. I hope whatever issue occurred can be worked out and everyone involved can move on happily. It could certainly have been much, much worse when dealing with actors and the egos that come with.

Of course. Though higher ups did take action in this case which is a positive step. Murray could be lying through his teeth or whatever however he's accepted fault and hoping to make amends. So far, so good for me. Making things better requires accountability, especially for people who are used to experiencing none, but it also needs people to change. This is an opportunity for him to learn some more compassion. I'll never know these people personally, so I guess I'll choose to hope that the intentions are sincere and growth will happen. And at the very least, this situation is an example of poor behaviour not being tolerated.

Well, I think the best thing you can do in this instance, Sithborg is continue to boycott his work, others can handle it their way, simples.

Personally I would love to see Murray come back, but I am sure it would just be a small one scene cameo connecting him to Oscar if they decide to use that character

But going forward I can see Winston and Ray having bigger roles as mentors to Phoebe, Trevor or whoever they have as the new team

I'm ready for something new, I like the idea of Ray and Winston carrying it on with a new team - sure I liked Murray, but he was always the skeptic, there's no room for skeptics now/can't even be a skeptic now and be in that job... but cameo's for sure would be great, like, there could be a running joke that the just wants to retire gracefully and every movie moving forward, he bumps into a ghost that gives him a hard time wether it be in the city, on an island, it's like he's still connected to them.. I can see his dead pan humour there.
