Some of them on Glee Forum (which is a hotbed of fanatical shipper insanity anyway) had themselves convinced for no apparent reason that Sam/Kurt was finally gonna happen in the Season 2 finale.
I remember thinking to myself...so you believe that in the span of one episode (the finale revolving around Nationals), the following is gonna happen:
1) Kurt and Blaine are gonna break up like 3 episodes after getting together, after being teased for 2/3 of the season.
2) Sam is gonna turn out to be gay, which has never been alluded to at all except for Kurt thinking he was gay for 5 minutes like 20 episodes ago.
3) And after breaking up with Blaine, and Sam's coming out, him and Sam are still gonna find the time to have some 5 minute speed romance and hook up within a season finale competition episode that has 100 other things going on, when these two characters have not had any significant interaction at all, ever, apart from like two scenes like 20 episodes ago.
Wow. That's some conviction there.
