I remember how some Sam/Kurt shippers clung to the belief that this was still gonna happen until it was downright delusional.

Some of them on Glee Forum (which is a hotbed of fanatical shipper insanity anyway) had themselves convinced for no apparent reason that Sam/Kurt was finally gonna happen in the Season 2 finale.

I remember thinking to myself...so you believe that in the span of one episode (the finale revolving around Nationals), the following is gonna happen:

1) Kurt and Blaine are gonna break up like 3 episodes after getting together, after being teased for 2/3 of the season.

2) Sam is gonna turn out to be gay, which has never been alluded to at all except for Kurt thinking he was gay for 5 minutes like 20 episodes ago.

3) And after breaking up with Blaine, and Sam's coming out, him and Sam are still gonna find the time to have some 5 minute speed romance and hook up within a season finale competition episode that has 100 other things going on, when these two characters have not had any significant interaction at all, ever, apart from like two scenes like 20 episodes ago.

Wow. That's some conviction there.

I remember that and Billy being hilariously defensive of Kurt at all times. It was adorable.

I was surprised that they had Brittany / Santana get back together and married nonetheless after RM didn't hide his disdain for them/the shippers.

I always forget how attractive I find him when his hair isn't gelled into oblivion and he's not wearing awful wardrobe.

That one time the writers did crack and thought this would be a good episode, and they were right, and I loved it, but it was only five minutes, and I'd watch an entire show starring Matthew Morrison as Sue and Dianna as Sugar.

It is my firm headcanon that Sam and Blaine at least pumped each other's pistons at some point during Season 4, and no one can take that away from me.
