Wroooooooong. /Lex Luthor.

They've yet to have a kiss like Finn/Rachel or Kurt/Blaine. They've had Santana however macking on Brittany's neck.

Yes, Jane Lynch said she thinks Santana is in love with Brittany but Brittany isn't in love with Santana.

Brittany seems to have no comprehension that anything is different from the friends with benefits they've always been.

And honestly, Brittany's vacancy and Santana's manipulations of her give their "relationship" a faintly shady undertone, IMO.

The thing that aggrivates me about Brittany is that Britt always gets offended when someone calls her out on being stupid, and yet Santana has frequently done the same, just not using so many words and doing so in a more offhand way, and Britt thinks nothing of it.... pretty much confirming that she is, in fact, stupid. She doesn't understand subtext.

people often don't like hearing the truth

Considering she thought she was pregnant because a stork built a nest on her roof, and couldn't recognize Sue with green facepaint or Beiste with a Santa beard hanging off her chin, Brittany has no room to get offended when someone calls her stupid. She is abysmally mentally vacant, and Santana used this to manipulate her into cheating on Artie with her and to believe it wasn't cheating because "the plumbing's different".

They're just not a healthy relationship. Brittany's too dumb and Santana takes advantage of it.

Honestly ever relationship on this show has shady undertones:

Will constantly uses the kids to get into Emma's pants.
Santana has manipulated Brittany in the past and called her stupid without actually using the word.
Blaine was willing to throw all of his morals out the window in the backseat of a car for a play. Kurt often gets jealous of Blaine when Blaine gets something he doesn't.
Finn's always constantly forgetting something important about Rachel like that time he fed her meat forgetting she was a vegetarian.

The only healthy non shady relationship on this show is Tina/Mike.

aka The two characters that get the least exposure of any of them. :csad:

Even Mike/Tina have more of a relationship than Santana/Brittany. We've seen them kiss various times.

I'll take character development over relationships. Honest to God, we don't even know who Tina is.... other than the fact that she likes to pretend to be a vampire and used to fake stutter.

Can't really argue with any of this. Will gets downright creepy at times how he's so determined to take Emma's virginity. Hell, the entire Rocky Horror Glee Show was a convoluted attempt by Will at stealing Emma away from Carl using the entire glee club as his pawns.

The way Santana takes advantage of Brittany's lack of intelligence to manipulate her gives Brittana a really shady undertone, IMO, probably the most of any relationship on the show.

Finn feeding Rachel meat was epic fail on his part. But Rachel's also gotten jealous and threatened any time he's been more popular than her.

Quinn uses her boyfriends for popularity points and pretty much ends up hurting any guy who gets involved with her.

I think both Rachel and Kurt have issues with being too self-centered to put themselves aside and be supportive of Finn and Blaine when they should be instead of being jealous of them, although Kurt did suppress his jealousy about Tony to support Blaine, which was a nice unexpectedly mature move on his part.

Blaine has...judgment issues. Although overall he's a better boyfriend than Finn, who is pretty much walking Fail 2/3 of the time.

For the most part, Mike, Blaine, and Sam are all decent boyfriends, and Mike/Tina, for how "background" they are, have the longest-running and apparently most stable relationship on the show.

Maybe with the exceptions of Rory and Sugar, who are newcomers she's been around 2 1/2 seasons longer than, Tina is the least developed member of New Directions. Even Blaine is more developed than her.

She's goth, she used to fake a stutter, she pretends to be a vampire, and she really likes making out with Mike.

For someone who's been a regular the entire series and is one of ND's five original members, it's pathetic what a non-personality she is.

They need someone in ND in Season 4 to give it some bite. So far, we've got Tina who basically is just "there" and has no character or personality of any significance, and Blaine and Sam are, for lack of a better word, just too "nice".

The only junior with any snark is Artie, and he's not leading man material.

I still wanna know how Lea, Colfer, Naya, etc. are gonna stay on the show. Split narrative?

I'm genuinely starting to think that the end of the season will be Figgings calling all the seniors into his office and telling them that they've failed all their courses because they've spent too much time focused on Glee club, and that they will all have to repeat their senior year.

It's convenient.
It's poor writing.
It's Glee.

:o

Well, Sugar's probably gonna be there next year unless they Lauren her and she's got plenty of snark.

And if Grant Gustin really does get to become a regular I'm sure that means Sebastian will come over to New Directions. So he'll probably be male Santana.

I think Lea Michele already slipped up and said that she would be filming in new locations for next years, so they're probably gonna be splitting time between the kids in high school and the kids in college.

With a split narrative like that, half the cast would presumably have limited, at best, interaction with the other half, they'd have to have new ND members and presumably new characters in NYADA or wherever Kurt and Rachel go, so the cast gets even more huge and the narrative gets more fragmented...

Kurt and Rachel's obsession with NYADA is a little ridiculous anyway, they weren't even going there until Emma suggested it to them, and they act like if they don't get to NYADA, they'll be stuck in Lima forever. NYADA is hardly the only college in NYC with a performing arts program.

It's not unheard of though. West Wing did the same thing in it's final season. Half of the cast were working at a campaign and the other were still at the White House. Sometimes both storylines were in the same episode, other times one episode was devoted to the campaign and the next was devoted to the White House.

I doubt they will be getting into NYADA. They will all probably end up going to the nearest college in Lima until they get to where they really want to be.

When I think of all the ways Season 4 could be a mess and a half, I can't help but think they should have just had everyone in the same grade and had all of ND graduate together, and had Hummelberry (with Blaine and possibly Finn tagging along, or whoever) ride off into the sunset toward NYC and end it with Will walking into his first day with a new glee club.

Ya part of me just wants all of them to be gone and start anew for season 4 but the other half is content with having some of them still around for college.

But either way I wouldve had Santana start off season4 passing on the torch of captain to a new head Cheerio ala Bring It On.

i'm worried about the future of my precious glee :(

I've thought that for awhile now. Making some of them seniors and some juniors was just a dumb move from the jump. Murphy should've been less concerned with a possible spinoff and more concerned with the actual show.

Especially how transparent it was. Murphy said way back when that Blaine was a year older than Kurt, and now we're supposed to believe Darren Criss is younger than Chris Colfer.

Uh....ok.
