Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back

Way to ruin "Turning Tables," Paltrow-- especially toward the end.

I had to tune out Jack Johnson's musical abortion to get through Mike's awesome dance number. I've already forgotten what his song sounds like, which is luckily the case with everything he's ever released (with the exception of the first 30 seconds of "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing").

The kids couldn't manage to sell any tickets to their concert? None at all? Not even their parents could make it? I know it was partially done for comedy, but still.

At least Mercedes finally got something to do this season other than obsess over tots. This plot line should've been over and done with a season ago, though.

Lauren's still awesome.

The scene between Dave, Santana, Blaine, and Kurt in the hallway was good. I'm a little disappointed that it didn't end in Santana kicking Dave's ass. And in case you were wondering, I use his first name because I can't be bothered to hit up the Glee Wikia every time I want to figure out how to spell his surname.

Will and Emma finally had a scene that didn't make me cringe. Well done.

I didn't think either Animal or Turning Tables was terrible, just....meh.

The only worthwhile scenes of this episode to me were the lunch scene between Will and Emma, the scene with Rachel and Mercedes in the car, and the hallway confrontation with Kurt/Blaine/Santana vs. Karofsky.

For an episode that was supposedly "paying tribute to neglected members of New Directions", it had Mercedes acting ridiculous for laughs and for the second time they couldn't even let Tina get all the way through a song.

Gotta say that Naya shouldve been an obvious choice to be part of this song. Glad that Jenna finally got another song even if its not a solo but Nayas voice would fit so much better. Amber stole BTW though, she is the best part about it.

I'm kind of suspecting that Santana will be pointedly absent from "Born This Way" - she's in the rehearsal scene, but not in any of the shots we've gotten of the performance itself.

I agree with this, too. I keep hoping that since they've already done their Journey medley at Regionals, they'll do a Queen medley for Nationals. They've conveniently left off a bunch of massive Queen hits they could use for it: "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," "The Show Must Go On," "I Want It All," "Don't Stop Me Now," and "Under Pressure," just to name a few off the top of my head.
