Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back

Ok, as someone who LOVED Loser Like Me and thought it was the best of the original songs at Regions I have to say this is literally the most awful thing I've heard on Glee. At least in the context of a SHOW CHOIR COMPETITION.

I hope they lose.

Wow. That was pretty bad.

The preview clip on that page shows Mercedes dancing with Sam. They're really pairing Sam up with everyone, aren't they?

It wasn't the worst thing I've heard on the show. Didn't exactly wow me but I may feel differently once I see it on TV with the dance number.

It sounds alright, I see myself listening to it over Get It Right and Loser Like Me.

It literally is Loser Like Me part 2, only with extra **** added to the backing beat.

The only thing I do like is that it's not just a Finn/Rachel song.

Again with this, Glee? :whatever:

I actually like them doing original songs when they are good. This just isn't all that good. Get It Right, Loser Like Me, Hell to the No, and even hell Trouty Mouth and Big Ass Heart are better than this.

I'm afraid to listen, as I still haven't recovered from "Rolling in the Deep." I was SO looking forward to that song (and Groff!), but they just HAD to go and use the John Legend cover of it, which I've hated since I first heard it. :(

I love Rolling in The Deep. Groff actually sounds like Groff!

I like original songs just fine, but like you said, this pretty much exactly Loser Like Me all over again.

I just really hate that arrangement. I've still never made it all the way through John Legend's version. I just can't help but imagine how amazing they could have sounded on Adele's version.

But, there is no arrangement... its a capela. Just Lea and Groffs voice sounding fantastic as usual.

But the beat and instrumentation in the original is so good! And that chorus was meant to be sung, NOT ~chanted~. They/John Legend seem to kinda half-sing the chorus (maybe even change the key?) or something, and it bugs. Maybe I just need that high note in the chorus to enjoy the song, idk. Because honestly, I'd have loved an a capela version (their voices do sound great) if they just sang it Adele's way instead of John Legend's.

Aside from John Legend's version being a cappella and John shrieking like a banshee every time he tried to hit a note that was WAAYY out of his range, I don't remember there being any real difference.

I've never heard Legends version...

Lea/Groff sound just like Adele... just a capela...

What an awful rendition of Rolling in the Deep. They completely killed it

Are you friggin kidding me? They are singing that Rebecca Black song. They definetly did it better than she did but man I wonder how much money/recognition she and that production company just made off of it.

I liked what they did with Rolling in the Deep. They didn't just take the song, they did they're own thing with it.
I thought the scene with Friday was hilarious, especially Brittany's "Best. Song EVER!" at the end.
Loved Sue's list of songs that she didn't want performed, and that Rachel said the first one listed.

I'm just miffed that we didn't get to see Air Supply this episode. :(

Oh that was low...
:awesome:
edit -
Loved the ending! Except for Karofsky running off like a little *****. But I am glad that now you can tell Karofsky is actually sorry about how he acted.
And when Blaine walked up and asked Kurt to dance, I almost teared up.

Okay. So this episode did it for me.

I shall say no more bad things about Blaine Warbler. No more.

I love that he called him Blaine Warbler. I loved that Kurt was willing to give up prom for Blaine, and that Blaine was willing to face his demons for Kurt.

And Sam+Mercedes was all kinds of sweet.

I kinda hope that happens!
