Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back

Finn and Jesse are both a-holes most of the time, but then again so is everybody else. These people go from good to bad more than the characters on Heroes!

Finn has been on extra strength d-bag pills since the Valentine's Day episode. He thought nothing of deliberately stealing the girlfriend of his football AND Glee Club teammate, so he has zero moral ground to get so righteous when he thinks someone is cheating on him.

Also, he won't take Rachel back, but he'll take Quinn back?

And, really, when you think about it, the whole "she was with another guy when I slept with Santana" arguement really doesn't hold much weight either. Do you remember WHY she was with another guy, Finn? Let's rewind to midseason last year...

"Oh, hey, that Rachel chick, who's been nothing but supportive of me since day one and was the only one to be honest with me about Quinn and Puck, seems to want to get together with me. What's that, Santana and Brittany? She's a little troll and if I want to be considered hot, I should get with one of you instead? Well, now I'm uncertain..... Rachel, I don't want to be your boyfriend. *30 seconds pass* Wait, wait, wait, Rachel, I didn't mean it! Come back! ...Who the hell is Jesse St. James? You're with him?! Well, that does it, I'm telling dad (Will)!!!! *sobbing* D-d-dad, sh-she said she didn't like me anymore and that Jesse is a better singer than me and and and that I ruined 'Just the Way You Are' and-- *begins sobbing uncontrollably*"

Something to note from Jacob's interview with Puck toward the beginning of the episode: Jacob said Puck was nominated for Junior Prom King.

Apparently every character on this show was a freaking Sophomore last season.

Given that they were all attending junior prom, that would make sense (plus, basic cast economics; they'll want to keep the group a group through season three).

Based on what I've gathered, I think Kurt is singing "Pure Imagination" next week and Finn is doing the song "Some People" by Ocean Drive (because Cory Monteith tweeted a while ago about how "Swedish people do great music", which a lot of people assumed meant he was doing ABBA, but obviously that isn't the case).

meh, i think this is the very thing that will hurt the show. Unless they pull a Saved By The Bell and continue this show through college Them all being the same age wont work. Also... it's quite ridiculous that a Glee club only has Juniors in it... where are the freshman? sophomores? and seniors? the school clearly doesn't have any special "glee club" for them.

Actually, following the cast of Saved by the Bell into college didn't even work for Saved by the Bell. The College Years lasted like 1 season, but The New Class lasted 7.

4 new cast members next season. So I'm assuming we'll lose a few of the cast members next year. Ryan Murphy announced that in an interview today. And that the season ends with a cliffhanger that means things for four major romances.

IKR? Even at the benefit concert, the only people who came were Kurt and Blaine? No one's parents, not even Burt and Carole (where is she always at, anyway?).

I agree we should have seen Rachel's dads by now.

I thought Victor Garber would be in more than one episode.

I'd like to see Queen Latifah guest star as Mercedes' mom and Jennifer Lopez as Santana's mom.

And I'd like to eventually get an interaction between Burt and Blaine's dad.

Queen Latifah looks NOTHING like Metcedes... And Jennifer Lopez looks NOTHING like Santana. Also don't like the idea of Mercedes and Santana having incredibly young mothers...

I wouldn't be surprised if they make some implication about Blaine transferring. Given that the Warblers seem to be done, they're gonna want to get him switched over pretty soon.

I'm thinking we'll get some development with Will/Emma, Finn/Rachel, and Santana/Brittany too.

I think I read Blaine doesn't transfer in the season opener and that's why the Warblers are still on hold. I really have an awful idea that they are going to try cutting back and forth between the schools. But with 4 new cast members at McKinley. It just feels like that wouldn't work.

Eh, I think it's by far in the storytelling's interest if they just bring him to McKinley ASAP, they have a decent foundation for it with his regrets about running away from bullies and his desire to make up for it by standing up to the bullies at McKinley at prom, and how much he's interacted with New Directions by now, he's practically an honorary ND member at this point anyway.

They have characters transfer at the drop of a hat anyway.

for a show that's full of cliches i think it's fine. in-fact... it makes most sense for what makes her who she is. For someone to act like Santana... either she has a cougar mother, or was raped as a child. Quite possibly both.

o please. it's true, especially with people with as many issues as Santana does.. i mean look at her psychologically... She's incredibly insecure so needs to have sex with EVERYONE in order to make herself think she feels better, she has a huge problem dealing with her homosexuality, she constantly admits she hates EVERYONE (yet magically wishes they loved her). And until her recent character evolution was conniving, backstabbing, and just plain mean. She put the Satan into Santana. I mean seriously, when you guys view characters don't you ever wonder what makes them tick? I'm telling you the girl was mentally or physically abused (but most likely mentally)
