I'm more hyped for it too, but I think casual moviegoers aren't kaiju fans and were just dazzled by the notion of seeing a big budget Godzilla in today's blockbuster climate. That's where the hype came from in the first one. That novelty is gone, and most of 'em don't know these other monsters at all.
Yep. The first film wasted the hype. General audiences care about Godzilla. It was the job of the first film to get people hyped about Godzilla again, and see where that takes us. It failed to do that and so while we are all geek'ing out about the new/old monsters, the general audiences don't even really notice.
The use of percussions in this score is so good and should accent the primal nature of the Titans well.
Well I am just hoping it is good first. I still feel kind of burned on the first film. To the point I haven't seen Kong yet.
Check out Kong. It's a bit of a trifle and Larson and Hiddleston are just... Kinda there? But it is fun, the effects are really good, there are some gruesome kills, Reilly is a ton of fun and it doesn't meander, it gets right down to the action pretty quickly.
I do plan on seeing it before this one hits next week. I have meant to see it, but yeah, just never had the drive to get it done, especially after finding out Larson is just there in it. The release of this seems as good a reason as any.
It's a nice film to just kick back with. I will say... Watch the credits. And no, not just for the post cred. All I'll say is it has to do with Reilly's character and it is kinda sweet and touching.
