Sci-Fi Godzilla Minus One

The cast is stacked!!

for people outside Japan...I am sure the cast is very unknown...haha, but here, just like Shin Godzilla, it filled with a lot of A-list actors and actress.

A fan of Sasaki Kuranosuke and Munetaka Aoki, and most definitely, as a fan of Hamabe Minami, I am very happy that they are all in this movie.

Definitely will watch this on opening day comes November! :)

I won’t be seeing it in the theater. But hopefully it makes it’s way to physical not too long after.

That looks amazing. I haven't seen Shin Godzilla, is it worth checking out?

I feel like this is the movie Godzilla 2014 should have been, or at least that's the vibe I'm getting.

I love Godzilla's new design.

I don't. 2014 has its own inspirations, while Minus One has different ones. Godzilla movies are a spectrum, and there is not one way to do them. And to be frank, some of what we've seen in Minus One, Toho would not have let Legendary do. Shocking as it may be, Toho may be more lenient toward domestic filmmakers than foreign ones.

Still blame Hajime Isayama for my hesitance over this film.

You don't but I'm referring to the earlier marketing materials for the 2014 film, along with Gareth Edwards outright calling Godzilla "the punishment we deserve." Godzilla is not a punishment in that film. He's literally a hero and protector.

Wait, what does Hajime Isamaya have to do with this movie?

He's not the one directing it, that's Takashi Yamazaki.

Lets just say that Japanese nationalism can lead to some gross places, and there are enough key things in the trailer to make me wary. It completely ruined Attack on Titan for me, so I remain wary.

Ah yes, I've heard some people having that concern with this movie so I somewhat understand that. Though from what little I've interpreted from the trailer, it seems to be pointing towards Minus One being critical of the Japanese government at the time but sympathetic towards its people. The lines "that monster will never forgive us," and "You're a disgrace," seems indicative of it at least.

I don't know, I think it's too early to say where this movie's allegiance stands without seeing it first. Especially with a different director at the helm.

I'm curious about how it will be handled. Certainly a topic that deserves nuance and consideration. I really doubt the film will be apologetic of anything awful.

There's also the question of how much the US military will be involved given that trailer teaser and Japan still being occupied by the time this movie takes place.

There should be a movie where Godzilla attends a wedding and brings a guest. It could be called Godzilla Plus One.

Who would he bring? I think Ghidorah would be up for it. Could save on the security bill if those 2 turned up.

Mothra is his bae.

They may fight a lot but that only makes it more exciting. :o

Their ongoing and very active courtship would also be great entertainment for the wedding guests. The insurers probably wouldn’t be as happy.
