Coming in higher…

No way does GMO top The Zone of Interest among Academy voters for International film even if nominated. Considering that Perfect Days got a nomination, it's hard to say Japan made a mistake. Especially as they had to make their choice in advance of GMO's release and reception.I am miffed for the BP and BD lack of noms, but it was announced a while ago that it missed the opportunity for BFL by like a month. Factor in that each country only gets one nominee. Though Im sure it would have won BFL if had been eligible.
I think it goes without saying that GMO was the surprise hit out of left field for most movie critics. Here's hoping if we get a Minus 2 or Toho's next Goji film it will be one more people and critics radar's.
Which I hope isn't too long. The only barometer I have as far as guessing a release date for it is Shin Godzilla and that one took forever to hit disc.Waiting for this to hit physical release so I can finally see it.

Yeah, we are dealing with a Japanese media company, Patience is going to be needed. Best guess, summer.
Will it be on digital sooner? Or are we thinking Summer or later for that too?
I would not bet on it.
Edit: Some relevant context. Shin Godzilla released on July 29, 2016. Home release was March 22, 2017. Seems likely to be quite a wait.
