Film series like Saw, Hostel & the Human Centipede are released and readily watchable on the internet by anyone, & they complain about content in 18 rated games.

The difference there is YOU are causing the violence in games, which i guess is why games come under scrutiny more, well that and they are the "new" media. Games dont deserve a pass tho, it seems people just enjoy violence. Its why a movie like Texas Chainsaw can make money. We just like violence.

I do think the few worst offending games should use a bit more common sense though so that they don't get used as the examples with which to bash the whole medium. And yeah, there's an outcry about every GTA game. I remember doing a university speech debating exactly this about the 1st GTA game!

that would make for a pretty awesome station

As long as they've got this song as the main GTAV song, that's my driving music:

I wish they would have included the ipod feature from MGS4...where you can listen to songs without driving. Import stuff from your system.

I definitely agree games shouldn't get a free pass (elements of many should be looked at) & that being the guy controlling the actions is a big part of it. But whether they have entertainment value or not (& I can see why there is some with Saw), I have no idea how these torture porn films are around. The gap between CoD & Human Centipede 2 for eg is quite big lol. If there was a game like that where you were controlling the characters as they were literally butchering normal people I would fully support the soccer moms in getting it banned!

Even the Modern Warfare 2 level where you shoot civilians in the airport. It's an important part of the plot but really I don't think a game needs to have you play that kind of level. If it's important show it in a cutscene or other method. Even if playing it would enhance the story & dramatic impact, you're treading into the unnecessary territory where someone criticising you has much more of a leg to stand on than pretty much any part of the entire series. The argument that you're influencing copycats is much more relevant in that kind of scene than when you're committing violence by defending civilians on Earth from alien monsters who are trying to wipe you out for eg.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Coming to PSN Next Week
Welcome back, Tommy.

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is coming to PlayStation Network on January 29th in North America and January 30th in Europe. Vice City will be released as a PS2 Classic (sorry, no trophies) for $9.99 (€9.99 / £7.99).

Vice City was rated by the ESRB for PlayStation 3 back in January of last year, but this marks the first official confirmation from Rockstar. Earlier this year, Rockstar celebrated the 10th anniversary of Vice City and released a version for iOS and Android.

This is the third GTA title to be released as a PS2 classic recently, following Grand Theft Auto III in September and San Andreas in December.

Only $10? not bad. I'm totally getting this.

whatever happened with the music licensing? will it still have the same soundtrack as the original release?

Awesome!!:wow:

Wow, now I gotta clean this gunk off of my keyboard :(

But really, some of the best news I've heard lately. Honestly, Drive is one of my all time favorites, and Kavinsky has a serious underrated reputation, and me being a lover of italian 80's songs and the like, this proves that this genre may be taking off into huge popularity due to Drive and now GTA 5.

I didn't know there are GTA games for IOS,Might buy one next time I get an apple store/ITunes card

I was in Best Buy the other day and saw the racks of preorder cards for GTA V. I immediately got excited because it looks like it might really hit in the Spring, but with video games I've come to expect delays. So to hold me off until then, I've decided to replay the story modes in GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony. The last two I've never played before, but I own the DLC. It's like revisiting my teenage years. The GTA games really are my all time favorite video game series. Story wise, Vice City is still my favorite, but San Andreas is still the most fun to play. I loved GTA IV, but not as much as the PS2 games.

V will be out by May for sure(im hoping and praying for March haha), so not much longer of a wait.

Has any Rockstar/GTA game ever been delayed once it had a release date? The only one I can think of is Max Payne and LA Noire, although I don't think either of those were given a solid release date when they were first revealed.

But I think Rockstar has a fairly good record when it comes to meeting release dates.

Yea they generally dont drop a release date until they're pretty confident they can hit it.

Did anyone else see on IGN that the game cover is supposed to come out this month?

Well, GTA IV was originally supposed to come out in Fall 2007 but it was pushed back.
