Luckily this is pay week for me, so once all the bills are done I'll preorder it at the Target near my job.

This week was supposed to be my pay week, but since we ended up getting 3 days off, they decided to change the cycle, which in a way works out better for me since I can pre-order days before its release, instead of waiting until I would have gotten paid a few days after the release.

Something tells me the radio station I'll be listening to will depend on which character I'll be playing as. I can definitely see myself listening to Rebel Radio while causing all kinds of chaos in the desert as Trevor, or blasting West Coast Classics while driving around downtown Los Santos as Franklin.

Try mixing it up and go vice versa.....let Franklin listen to Rebel Radio in town, and Trevor jam to West Coast Classics out in the desert. :woot:

I wonder how often we will be switching characters? If it's completely optional I doubt ill ever use anyone but Franklin.

In free-roam it's completely optional. In the missions where all three characters are involved it's my understanding some segments will be locked onto one character, while others you'll be able to switch. Then there's individual character missions which are locked onto that particular character until you return to free-roam.

I'm sure it'll tell us in the stats how much time we've spent as each character. At this stage I'm keen to give all three equal play time, but I get the feeling Trevor will be my go-to guy for just screwing around.

Ah yea that makes sense. Can't wait to just cut up in LS

Why just franklin?

I sort of look at all three character as not amazingly strong individually but the idea you have the ability to switch between them and get different perspectives and variety is great.

After the intro mission I'll be doing 4 things in order..

-Drive around the city as Micheal

-Walk around some neighborhoods as Franklin

-Fly around the country side and mountains in a crop duster plane as Trevor

-Get in a submarine and explore the ocean as Michael or Trevor

Do each of the characters have different skills/abilities or is switching between them purely cosmetic and offers you new dialogue/character interactions?

Each starts off with different levels of ability in various skill sets. For example, Michael will be better at handling guns while Franklin will be better at driving. As you play you can level these skills up until their maxed out (if you're so inclined), meaning that all three characters can be equally skilled in everything after some work.

On top of the regular skills, each of the three characters gets their own special 'power' that is unique to them and can't be used by the other two. Michael possesses some form of Bullet Time, able to slow time during a gun fight. Franklin has the ability to slow time while driving, I'm not entirely sure quite how this will function but the basic idea is that his reaction time increases a great deal so he's able to perform tight maneuvers regular drivers can't. Trevor basically has a temper tantrum, or Hulks-out, able to deal out increased damage to enemies while taking less damage himself.

I'm most interested to see how Franklin's power will work, and to activate Trevor's rage ability in everyday situations.

Random observation:

The GTAV "trinity" mirrors the GTAIV "trinity" in some ways. Franklin is like Luis; Trevor is like a crazier Johnny; and, while Niko's arc was the classic rags-to-riches, Michael's seems to be that he starts out rich, watches his marriage and his relationship with his family collapse, goes through a messy divorce, loses everything and has to start fresh.

It could be the worst game in the world but it'll get an automatic 10 out of 10 from IGN because it so hyped up

HAHA! Yeah. Now that you say it, I'm thinking this game could have all kinds of glitchy issues with lots of lag. Man....

Its Rockstar, it will have very little of that. They have consistently knocked it out of the park this generation.

GTA IV - 98 Meta score
Red Dead Redemption - 95 Meta score
Max Payne 3 - 87 Meta score

They keep pushing the limits of open world games EVERY time they release one. Every single time, they set the bar for open world titles. They did it with GTA III, they did it with Vice City, they did it with San Andreas, they did it with GTA IV, they did it with Red Dead Redemption and more than likely, theyll do it here with GTA V.

If this were any other developer, id say take the hype with a pinch of salt.

Lol Niko's story was far from a rags-to-riches story. I always thought it was more of a revenge story and the consequences of revenge based on the Deal and Revenge choices u made at the end of IV and not moving on from it. Roman :csad:

Haha Nikos story was like rags to slightly better rags.

How fast do you all plan on beating the story?,I won't rush to complete it,The game will still be a blast after it But I'll be playing the game for years and I'm much more into the side missions and online so I'll just take my time with story,Once I get the game I'm going to do the intro mission and probably not go back to it for days or something

The last couple of months I have been in a "get a game from gamefly, beat it, get a new one asap" mindset, because I wanted to get a good amount of games I missed done before the new generation started, but I am going to take my sweet ass time with GTAV. I'm going to savor all of it.

Yeah,One of the reasons I left Gamefly is cause my gaming time will mostly be devoted to this game and Battlefield 4

Like most open world games, ill do a little story, a lot of exploration, a little story, a lot of exploration etc etc. So ill prob stretch that story out a good bit.

When do we think the reviews will start pouring out?
