I don't think the city is small, it's just that the rural area is enormous. If the map comparison is accurate, just the city section of Los Santos will be almost as big as the entire GTA IV version of Liberty City.

EDIT: Pat beat me to it by less than sixty seconds. You speedy bastard.

Not just is the rural sections enormous too but most of the ocean is open to explore underwater

That's the funny thing, the game is so big in both size and features, I often find myself forgetting about numerous other aspects. The rural area is huge...also the whole ocean is detailed! You can customize guns...and play tennis! You can switch between characters...and pour gasoline on the ground!

It's really quite mind boggling.

Anyone know when reviews drop?

Taking a guess I'd imagine it's an embargo that means they can't release their reviews until day of release. That sort of thing seems to be more popular these days.

Anyone else miss having well known celebrities voice the characters in these games? I mean they had Samuel L Jackson, Ray Liotta, James Woods, Michael Madeson, Burt Reynolds, etc.

I do. Especially when some of those actors really added to the part. I think Samuel L Jackson as Tennpenny was arguably GTA's greatest villain.

I thought by now we'd have commercials of this with, "10 out of 10 from IGN," and stuff like that.

IGN gave IV a 10/10 and so if they give V below a 9..They are worst than I thought

So....I know it is a bit early to be talking DLC, but what are the odds that we see Las Venturas and San Fierro. Part of me things that is only a pipe dream, that it would be far too expansive of a project. Other part of me thinks, this is Rockstar.

And see, there's *gotta* be invisible walls around the ocean to set the limits on the map. That's why I'm puzzled that they chose to make Los Santos an island, instead of just saying **** it and put up invisible wall mountains "off in the distance" like they did for RDR to create a land-locked "the rest of the state of San Andreas" perimeter. Oh well....guess it can be considered somewhat "canon" to the old SA map (even though some of the place names have been changed to protect the innocent :woot: ).

I could care less what the reviewers say, there is NOTHING that is going to keep me from getting this game.

its gonna be tough getting this game and having the willpower to not play it

I'm sure there's going to be all sorts of stupid little complaints about controls, ect. That's why I put no stock into the blueprint for video game reviews....they should be judged on 2 things: fun factor and re-playability.

Well they did already spend $250 million dollars, what's a little more?

My gut feeling is, it's unlikely. Chances are we'll see more along the lines of TBOGT and TLAD...although we do already have three protagonists...hard to say. If they do go that way though, I'd be very keen to see a female protagonist again.

Personally, instead of DLC, I'd rather see a brand new game based in an updated Las Venturas. As much as I liked the DLC for GTA IV, I'd prefer a new game in a different city within the same continuity much like the GTA III generation of games. The map wouldn't even have to be half as big as GTA V. All you need is the city itself, the surrounding desert, throw in the Hoover Dam for good measure.

Damn, I had no idea that the online part of the game wont be up for at least 2 weeks after launch.

Just scanning the leaked map, and trying to ID all the icons:

-lots of properties for sale
-lots of races, including one that looks like a Laguna Seca-style official "pro" racetrack
-lots of skydiving
-several mountain icons, which I assume is some rock-climbing minigame
-several target icons, indicating apparently shooting ranges
-clothing shops
-barbers/stylists
-gun shops
-strip clubs, I guess --- a few of them. The icon shows a valentine-type heart
-three or four icons of a man either walking or running. Footraces? Marathons?
-several tennis courts
-one golf course, the Los Santos Golf Club.
-police departments
-hospitals
-Spray N Pays
-several icons that look like binoculars, out in the wilderness, and along the Del Perro Pier. Wildlife watching/photo minigame?
-speaking of the Pier, the ferris wheel there shows up as an icon. Maybe that means you can actually go up in the wheel, and other carnival rides?
-a single icon in the Grand Senora Desert that looks like a magic wand. No clue(?)
-the "all-seeing eye" icon; one. Pretty sure they used that in GTAIV, but I can't remember what it means.
-one icon that looks like a car; maybe a car lot or chop house
-three or four icons that look like old-fashioned movie cameras. Theaters?
-one icon that looks like a high-heel shoe. Is *this* the strip club icon? Or a regular dance club/disco?
-one airport marker, for Los Santos Int'l

What's *not* shown on the map, as compared to other GTA games, is restaurants/fast food joints; safe houses; car washes; ATMs and internet cafes (probably obsolete in GTAV, and handled through your smartphone now); no Liberty City style entertainment (cabaret, comedy club, darts, bowling, pool, clubs, bars). Also, no icons shown around the ocean, for marinas, dive points, shipwrecks, or what have you.

The map shows a lot of points of interest, but it also leaves out a ton of stuff. And that's a good thing. :)

Oh now that is awesome. Wow. I'm amazed at how large this game will be.

That jump feature reminds me of Driver San Francisco, that game is pretty awesome too so cool.

Can someone explain briefly how multi-player works for GTAO.

If you can interact with a maximum 16 players during a private game how many can you interact with during a public game?
