We won't see the Avengers in GotG but something tells me we will see the Guardians in The Avengers 2.

I strongly doubt we'll see any Avengers in GOTG. Dunno the likelihood of the reverse, though, as Craig suggests.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see *some* connective tissue with the other movies in GOTG....maybe a reference to Stark Industries from Quill? A reference to the Chitauri would actually be highly likely, in conjunction with the appearance of Thanos.

That wouldn't be out of the question or so out of character. Doesn't Iron Man join the team anyway in the new Guardians series as part of Marvel Now? This would be a nod to that.

When is this movie meant to start filming again? When that animated movie "Rise of the Guardians" came out last year, I kept thinking it should've been Guardians of the Galaxy. In fact, I sometimes have wondered whether audiences will think Guardians of the Galaxy is related to that as some kind of sequel.

Thats kinda my reasoning I feel like parts Marvel NOW may synching/preparing us for the future of the MCU. Or vice-versa?

We will almost certainly see both Thor and GotG dealing with the fallout from the Bifrost's destruction and the events of the Avengers in their own movies. So in that sense they will be very related and could very well share some characters or elements. I doubt that will include any major characters already established though.

Happy New Year Cool Kids! Your fanboy fabulous journo here hard at work on a frigid New York night. Let’s get to it since this scoop is actually twofold.

Here is what I know so far on Guardians Of The Galaxy, first off, the search for Peter Quill aka Starlord continues. Peter Quill is the half-human, half-alien hero who was made the leader of the latest iteration of the Guardians when it launched in 2008.

Remember back around Thanksgiving when Mike Fleming over at Deadline dropped a list of names in contention?

According to my sources, you can add Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell, and Cam Gigandet to the latest crop of actors reading for the role. Keep in mind I said reading, they didn’t get no offers yet.

But here is the kicker. Marvel is going after some big comedic actors perhaps for some comedic relief in the movie. Exactly how big?

Marvel is asking for the availability of both Jim Carrey AND Adam Sandler!

Jim Carrey I can see since he is already playing Colonel Stars & Stripes in Kick Ass 2, but Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) in a Marvel movie?!

As they say on ESPN, “C’mon man!”

Then again think about it. Adam Sandler has had one stinker after another at the box office so being in a Marvel movie could be a smart career move at this point. Marvel fans what do you think? Can you see Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler in a Marvel movie? Sound off below.

Carey and Sandler are both good when doing most anything BUT comedy imo, though they can have their moments. As long as they aren't allowed to overdo it and act hammy it might work. I'm leary of this though honestly.

I agree. I'm just acknowledging the possibility and that it wouldn't stretch credibility that much if done right.

The Sandler/Carrey news is... actually surprising to say the least. I'm not usually as caught off guard by Marvel's choices, but assuming this is true, I'm genuinely taken aback. As for what I think about it--

I appreciate Adam Sandler's early comedy and persona. I'm not someone who feels infuriated by him churning out those horrendously crappy movies for a quick buck nowadays, but I can't help but get the impression that he would mail in his performance as Rocket with something like that monkey voice from the 2011 smash hit comedy, Zookeeper.

Carrey could actually potentially bring something great to Rocky if he gives it his all; especially if he uses something like his Hank voice from Me, Myself & Irene.
