You guys keep hawking Rooker for Rocky, and with good reason. But I think some of you are overlooking the obvious:

....Rooker would make a damn fine Thanos, too. :word:

I like Rooker but I just can't picture his voice coming out of either Rocket or Thanos

Yeah, I'd like to see him involved in this somehow, but his voice is more raspy than powerful and commanding. Seems more like Groot to me.

With the whole "futuristic ex-cons" thing from the early log-line means we might get some prison action which could open up a ton of cameo possibilities for Rooker etc.

His voice --- ANYBODY who plays Thanos' voice --- is likely to be vocodered and heavily modulated anyway. And he may be tiny, but he can wear a bulky prosthetic armored suit and look a helluva lot bigger, and they can use camera angles to exaggerate his size. Hollywood has been doing that for ever, you know.

*Edit: Since when is 5'10" "tiny" anyway? What're you, Shaquille O'Neal?

Yeah, the voice for Thanos will be modulated, I'm sure, but I'd still like the basis for the voice to be deep and booming rather than raspy. Something like Dennis Haysbert.

Orrrrrr Keith David

Denisof's voice wasn't modulated. I'm pretty sure an actor would actually be super pissed if their voice was modulated. Actors have a certain level of ownership over their performances.

I'm pretty sure I read it was modulated

Maybe some minor stuff, but Denisof talked about how he wore the mouthpiece for months to practice getting the voice right.

It's Thanos though man! We've got Captain America 6'1 and Thor 6'4 ....

I don't want them to have to back themselves into a corner by using trick angles ..... I didn't like it when when they did it with young Steve Rogers and with Laufey. It looked phony.

I basically want a 7'-7'4" Thanos. To put that in perspective.

6'2"-6'3" Triple H, next to 7'1"-7'2" Great Khali. That'll give you a scale of how I want Hemsworth and Evans to stack up to Thanos.

That can't be done with an actor in prosthetics. Your casting pool is too small if you're using "Only actors over 7'."

And for the record, I'm not advocating wrestlers...I'm just using that for a scale model of how tall I want Thanos to be.
