FYI, James Gunn said he's not a big fan of Nova and really hates his helmet. He likes the Nova Corps though.

Dear lawd what has he done?

I fear this is not gonna sit well with some people.:oldrazz:

It's fine though, Nova doesn't need to be in any of the GotG films. He can still get a his own film, and could be a cosmic movie that kind of takes it's cues from the Annihilation event or any others. And that probably wouldn't be filmed by Gunn anyway.

Just because Gunn doesn't like Nova doesn't mean Marvel won't make a Nova movie.

Any thoughts on this quote from James Gunn on Nicole Perlman's script:

"Really, in Nicole's script everything is pretty different. I mean the story is different, there's no Walkman, the character arcs are different, it's not about the same stuff. But that's how the WGA works. They like first writers an awful lot."

It seems that the success has gone into Gunn's head a bit. Thinks he's a bigshot now.

I don't believe Gunn. If the WGA credits 33% to Perlman, that means he kept a good chunk of her story.

Someone said earlier that the 70s music was Perlman's idea. Is there a source for that?

Now look, to be perfectly honest here, Gunn could be right. However, the quote makes him sound a little bitter and dismissive of Perlman. It also sounded IMHO a tad unprofessional.

Now he could be telling the truth. I haven't read his re-writes or Perlman's original script.

However, it was Perlman's script that got the ball rolling on this whole thing. Several scripts were apparently being developed by Marvel, and it was Perlman's that got fast tracked because everyone loved it so much. So we got Guardians over all of these other properties.

Gunn has been known for being a blunt guy.. he says what is on his mind or how he truly feels, regardless of what people think of him

I wouldn't worry too much about Gunn not liking Nova. If Feige/Marvel want Nova to appear in the future, I'm sure he will.

Oh man... I gotta ask, did that

dancing scene with Quill distracting Ronan seem silly? Heck, did that entire final stand against Ronan seem silly?

It's little things like this that I just cringe so hard at (and REALLY don't want to with this film)... I'm seeing it tomorrow.

Going to see FRi. as part of a drive-in theatre double feature. Gaurdians first, then 'A Hard Days Night' by the Beatles. Should be a blast.

Sitting in the theater now, movie starts in 10 minutes. It's been pretty eventful do far: they had a raccoon in the lobby for people to pet, and there was a fist fight between a huge drunk guy and another guy while waiting in the long line! Here we go.

Only a hour and a half left. Can't wait to finally see this! It's gonna be awesome!
