keep your gosh darn spoilers out of here, i don't care if they're tagged.

OMG Thanos is the shiz! When he lets loose, all hell will break loose in the MCU. You can just tell.. I love the frightened look in Ronan's eyes and Thanos just calmly speaks to him

if you want to post spoilers, post them in the appropriate thread.

Man I gotta hear the music to it!!!! I have no time tonight!

SPOILERS peeps!!!! come on there a few who don't like being spoiled (not me) please keep the spoiler tags on

Spoilers are fine in here as long as they're tagged. The spoiler thread is for people who don't want to bother with tagging them.

okay peeps talk to ya in the am, gotta lock up!!!

Lol I wonder, could

Howard the Duck take Stan Lee's (cameo) role

in Marvel's cosmic outings? I wouldn't mind that actually...

I'd prefer that he joins the Guardians in the sequel. But if that doesn't happen, then what you said is good enough.

Dudes!! What a film! I really loved it. Definitely the funniest movie I've seen in ages!
Rocket and Groot were the heart of the film for sure. But to my surprise, my favorite character ended up being.......Drax!! Loved him and Bautista did a fantastic job. This little group of misfits really felt like a family by the end. It was awesome. :D

At first, the tone was kinda turning me off. The sci-fi elements were just a bit cheesy in the beginning. Especially with Ronan. But then I really started to get into it. The music and the lovable-ness of the Guardians really help to sell the whole world. They make it feel believable.
Speaking of Ronan, he was only a few steps above Malekith. At least Ronan seemed like a force to be reckoned with though. Anyway, yeah. He wasn't great.
And honestly, if I didn't know who Thanos was already, and what he will mean further down the line, I would think he looked pretty silly. He looked like a live action cartoon character to me. Which is what he is I guess. lol. I'm sure he will definitely start to seem less silly when we actually see him do something.
Nebula and Korath were good. They served their purpose. And I enjoyed the family drama between Nebula and Gamora.
And one thing I haven't heard people talk about too much, is the action. There is some fantastic action in this film. The 3rd act battle was actually really exciting. Definitely not a let down whatsoever to me. I love a great sky battle.
And another thing that deserves mention is the cinematography. This was hand-down THE most beautiful Marvel film. Probably the most visually striking CBM I've ever seen. I loved the colors, and there were some shots that just looked like works of art. They were that gorgeous.
So all in all, despite a mediocre main villain, this movie was a home run. I laughed the whole time. And I felt truly attached to these characters by the end. I wanted to see a sequel right away. Definitely a 9/10 :)

I just got back from my showing, and this film definitely deserves all the high praise it's been getting. It was awesome. Everyone in my party (which included some "i don't want to see a movie with a cartoon raccoon" people before the movie started) absolutely loved it.

Great movie. Awesome and hilarious. Bautista was great as Drax. Had to mention that, as I wasn't sure about him at first, having never seen him act. What a fun movie!

Yeah, I too was completely unfamiliar with Bautista before this, but I thought he was absolutely perfect as Drax.

I have a question for those who have seen the film and can hear better than I can.

When Drax confronts Korath, he says something which he then says to Quill was a metaphor.

I didn't catch what he said to Korath. Thnx

Here is what he said:

Drax said, "A finger across the throat means death!"

Really fun and exciting movie, leaves a great impression on the cosmic side of marvel.

Hmm idk. I guess the world and tone just took some getting used to. Like it was more Star Trek alien wise than Star Wars, if that makes sense. And the first scene with Ronan where they were putting his armor on felt cheesy to me. Idk, I guess I just wasn't used to it yet. It definitely improved once the team was all together doing stuff.

WOW. Welcome to being my favorite comic flick of the year and also being a contender for overall favorite of the year Guardians. ****ing amazing.

One flaw stops this from being perfect. The handling of the villains. Thanos, Ronan and Nebula could have been handled better with more impact and background when all was said and done. But Gunn did such an amazing job with everything else that it's really hard to complain.

Best title credit sequence I have seen in awhile hahaha. So rad.

This is how I'd rank MCU films now
1. Avengers
2. Captain America 2
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Iron Man
5. Captain America: TFA
6. Iron Man 3
7. Thor
8. Thor 2
9. Iron Man 2
10. The Incredible Hulk

The good news is though is that Thanos isn't a one and done villain.
