True story:

My youngest kid (11yr, who is a Marvel movie fan) recently saw the GOTG TV trailer for the first time with Rocket just going all badass with the firepower and Groot, turns to me and says: "A talking raccoon in a super-hero movie, that's just dumb." I told him if he didn't want to go with me to see this movie, that it was OK, but that he was being disowned and sold on eBay. We're all excited to see this now. :halo:

Perfect parenting, to be honest.

:word:

Well I've got my Thurs night premier party all set. Got my best bud, his girl, one of my roommates and myself all going to see it. They usually have an 8 pm showing but my bud won't be off work till then so we are catching the midnight one. So excited for this. I love the MCU and all it's glory. Really excited to see the mad titan on screen and all his bad assery.

Talk show appearances:

- Zoe Saldana was on Live with Kelly and Michael earlier today.
- John C. Reilly on Letterman tonight

You'll love this one! It's on another level! Total breath of fresh air.

Talk appearances for the week:
David Letterman: Reilly on Monday, Pratt on Tuesday, Saldana on Wednesday
Jimmy Fallon: Diesel on Tuesday
Seth Meyers: Pace on Tuesday, Pratt on Wednesday
Chelsea Lately: Reilly on Tuesday, Pratt on Thursday
Kelly & Michael: Saldana on Monday, Pratt on Wednesday, Diesel on Friday

Cool, looks like Tuesday is when they'll really be all over late night TV.

Dang, the CinemaBlend guy compared this to Star Wars, Ghostbusters and Back To The Future. :wow:

And here I was thinking this would be a disaster.

If you asked me when the trailer came out, I'd have told you this movie would flop... but now... now I don't know.

Marvel Studios is just too hot for a flop these days. If anything that may underperform it could be Ant-Man but I have faith in Reed and I love Rudd. So if GotG blows up and of course A:AoU is going to do gangbusters Ant-Man still has the chance to continue the streak.

That Marvel label is gold right now. Gold, I tells ya.

So I'm going to try and do the midnight screening Thursday, I'm going with 8 friends as a party group Friday, and going to see it with my girl Sunday. Going to help out the BO as best I can peeps :D!!

All my friends are hyped to see the Mad Titan after I talked him up extensively for the past few weeks. Half the reason they are going, probably, is to shut me up about it :-p.

Hey guys the closest theatre to me doesn't have IMAX 3D but has UltraAVX 3D, so my question to you guys is:

Will I get the same experience in AVX or should I travel farther for IMAX?

Yes.....join the dark side of the force.

I never believe for a moment that GOTG will be a flop, even though it's based on an obscured property. Marvel has the ability to turn unknown into gold.

I have a strong belief in the idea that it doesn't matter how obscure the character was in the comics, if you attach a solid creative team with a vision to them the end result will be entertaining and memorable. GotG and Ant-Man will be no different.

Also go vote in my poll, buttheads.

Lets be realistic. GotG and Ant-Man have a chance because they are connected to MCU. Without the brand name, these wouldn't have a chance. Thankfully they are.

The brand is a thing but it's meaningless if the movie turns out to be a turd. Get real bro.

But it works both ways. You can have a brilliant film, but if it gets no attention its chances of financial success dwindle. "Edge of Tomorrow" might be the best film I have seen this year, but it didn't do all that well.

Edge of Tomorrow didn't have 5 years and ten successful films behind it. As I said, brand is a thing but vision is another. Combined = winner. Argue less please, it's late here.
