The good news is though is that Thanos isn't a one and done villain.

Yeah, still thought that reveal could have been stronger. Theere needed to be more impact with that scene imo.

Overall he worked in the background accordingly.

An absolute blast in every way imaginable. My only issues with it were how far it, at times, deviated from the comics
Quill's mom, Drax being an alien, etc
but screw all that, it was great! I really hope we see more of them, as well as more cosmic Marvel.

I love how he was using on of those lizards as a microphone :)

By now you and other comic fans should realize that every comic film deviates in some way shape or form from the comics. Not everything is going to be exact detail for detail. People can never get over this stuff. It's rather sad.

Just got back and WOW! The hype is real folks! Talk about an amazing movie, right off the bat it hit me. I got choked up when he was there with his mom. Great film 10/10 in my book, it barely edges out TWS as my 2nd fave MCU film. Avengers is still the top but not by much.

Best part for me was,

[BLACKOUT]DANCE OFF BRO![/BLACKOUT] :woot: Had me ROFL!!!

I love how you totally missed the "screw all that, it was great" right after I said that. :whatever:

Loved loved loved the Thanos scenes. All of them.

He said screw all that since it was a great movie.

The "dance off" at the end was great :) I can imagine some miserable gits criticizing it though. And the way they helped Quill in the end had genuine emotional payoff, unlike the ending of The Dark World.

You can give me that :whatever: all you want haha. Yes I saw the screw it all comment. Doesn't change the fact that it was still a "gripe" to you. It's just crazy how some fans want a literal detail for detail translation onto film hahaha.

I was gonna write this long post responding to you, but you are so not worth the time or the energy.

I loved every single second of the film and, while I was taken aback to seeing
Peter's mom die to cancer as opposed to an alien attack
, it in no way deterred from my enjoyment of a movie I can literally say was the most fun I've had during a movie in a while.

In your last 2 posts, you included TheDarkKnight08 among the comic fans who cannot get over changes from the comics and people who want a literal translation of the comics. He never said anything like that. He just said he preferred the comics version of Drax originally an earthling but what they did in the movie was still great so screw comic book faithfulness in that case. No reason to attack him like he's a comic book crazy purist.

It's not even a matter of preference. I just remember Drax being a human being. They deviated from that, I was taken aback a little, but I never said it stopped my enjoyment.

But, yo, thanks for having my back.

Yeah there was very little "human(earthling)" involvement in this.

I shed a tear. And it was the perfect moment for them to name themselves. It was awesome! :woot:

Did y think it was worse than Avengers Thanos?

I think that post was me making a sarcastic joke. :p

But I have pointed out the difference in Thanos fingers, ie slim human fingers in Avengers, thick meaty alien ones in GotG

Continuity!

There were so many scenes that made the 3D just amazing as hell. I have never scene a post-converted movie that looked so good. Such an awesome movie. I really am going to try and get to an IMAX 3D showing now

unlike the ending of The Dark World.

Despite not hating it, TDW just left me cold and disappointed, as sad as it is to say. Phase 2 has been pretty damn awesome though. IM3, TWS, GOTG. All great films, and we still have another to go! :woot:

I still like Thor 2 a lot but the other movies in Phase 2 (especially the two this year) Good lord.

Uh oh don't say IM3 was a great film! People will riot :o haha.

IM3 is a great film though, lol. Don't get me wrong though, Chris. Thor 2 is ok, and has moments of greatness, but I hated Malekith, hate that Thor was an afterthought in his own sequel, hated that Loki lived (seriously...his death was fantastic), the humor sucked (especially Darcy & Darcy Jr.), and the color palette pissed me off.

OK, now wasn't Quill also an astronaut in the comics?
