Deadpool HARD as STEEL - The COLOSSUS Thread

Colossus was great in the movie he's like the Beast in X3..

Colossus was my second favourite character in the movie

Best part of the movie, IMO.

It's like he leapt out of a comic book. My only complaint is he is always in steel form even when he is inside the X-Mansion.

Yeah that was my only gripe with how they did Colossus really, we even see him eating breakfast in metal form at one point. So if they do have him in future movies they will need to cast a new actor for his human form.

In the comics, he was kind of stuck in metal form (he only changed with great difficulty) after the Marauder attack. I'm not saying that's necessarily the case, but this isn't unusual for the comics either.

why the heck was he armored up the entire movie? Didnt really make any sense. Did they do this so people didnt notice they changed actors or something? First scene had him eating breakfast in steel form and he really should have been in human form

Oh I know it happens, but they painted themselves into a bit of a corner if he is going to come back. They will need to cast another actor for his human form as they will have to show it at some point. This was just a little nitpick I had but overall loved him in the movie.

I liked the way Colossus looked and the way he acted and fought in the film. But it's pretty obvious the filmmakers only included him in the film to act as a foil for Wade to play off of. Every comedy needs a good straight man after all.

I know they asked Cudmore if he wanted to return as Piotr, but since he refused I guess it gave them free reign to interpret Colossus in the way they desired. Which is why we never see him out of his metal form, as it adds to the comedy. If they do cast a new actor though, maybe Deadpool could make a meta joke about it.

Colossus is the most accurately-adapted X-Man on the big screen; easily.

It's not just the look (which was perfection), but they got the character down 100%. The accent, the chivalry ... He was perfect.

^ I think he was done a touch too broadly. Colossus is a bit more subtle than that (I also tend to think of him as younger). But he's far and way more accurate than any character besides Wolverine and maybe Magneto.

I agree that they painted themselves in a corner if they show him in human form, but I'm not sure why you're so certain they'd need to show him in human form at some point. They showed him eating breakfast in metal form, so I don't think they care as much as everyone else does.

The whole point is to exaggerate the elements of Colossus that make him unique. He's big, strong, and metal - let's make him consistently giant, strong, and metal. He's super nice and he's super good. He's super Russian. I loved the portrayal, but they didn't feel the need to do anything that distracts from that and his human form arguably distracted from it.

I didn't really have a problem with it in this movie particularly. But if they use him in the sequel I want to see his human form at some point. I imagine he takes a big chunk of the budget being in metal form the whole time as well.

Colossus was great. We already knew he looked great but his personality was overall very well executed as well. A perfect straight man to Deadpool.

He felt a little overly dumb but the only thing I felt was really bad was him throwing up due to Francis being shot. That made no sense at all.

For some reason I never thought twice about him always being in metal form when I watched the movie, but when it struck me later I do agree that it's odd. Seems like they could have gotten away with spending less money on being more accurate, and they clearly were trying to be true to the comics when it was right to do so.

Well it was smart to keep him in metal form. This way they can cast any human actor but retain his metal form that makes him much larger.

Why we never see human form? Maybe he prefers it. It's not a weapon or a suit, it's who he is. He may transform into that while he sleeps. He can clearly eat food in that form.

Why? Because its dangerous. He goes into human form for protection for those around him not to mention reduce property damage. Its not practical for him to be in metal form unless he is in combat or needs the strength/durability it brings. Everyday function....it makes no sense to be like that 24/7

I think the colossus character worked in this movie but i can't see that version in our current xmen cannon... Personally I dont think it really even needed to be colossus but a another strong character would Have sufficed, but it's my only criticism of the movie.
Hope this incarnation remains only in the deadpool Series

Personally I don't mind this incarnation of Colossus interacting with the bigger universe as long as the other characters he interacts with also lean towards more comic accurate the way they did with the ones in this film. He worked for me except for the vomit part.

I loved colossus in this movie hope we see more of this colossus in future x films like gambit

I won't mind a roadtrip comedy action superhero movie with Colossus training Warhead as a future X-Man.

I liked Colossus. He got far better treatment here than ever before but it still bothered me that in this movie it seems like he's stuck in his organic-metal state. Even when it seems ridiculous not to use that ability(like the [Blackout]cab ride[/Blackout]). Colossus ain't Ben Grimm/Thing.

I'm not sure why the praise. He was a bit of a caricature in this movie. Which works for this movie, but I don't think the Colossus that they presented in this film will work in a more serious X-men film.

His small role in Deadpool did more for the character than three previous X-men movies. He's always been serviceable as a bit player in a blink-and-you-miss it cameo but it was nice seeing him get any sort of attention beyond getting torn in half by Sentinels.

I think they showed something that the X-men are missing. Good mix of comedy/serious. He was able to get down to business just as easily as he was able to be funny.
