Also btw, while the ending wasn't a happy one, no one died in POA either.

I know but the ending wasn't happy go lucky like the previous 2 and from then on out each book ended on a serious note and had a lead in to the next book...which I liked. You could totally tell JKR changed her style up with POA.

It just keeps the suspense up ya know? I want to know then what happens while the first two felt contained within their own book.

I was 25 when I started reading the books and understood from the start that they were kids books. I never had an issue with that.

I understood it, but they just weren't my favorite for that very reason...I think we all agree here anyways. I don't know of many that have COS and SS at the top.

I loved SS and CoS.

I've never ranked any of the books by my favorites. I don't think I could.

Technicolour had what was described as a "meltdown" with Harry Potter 7 pt.2. :wow: Email flurries back and forth between cinema sites and our booking agent were getting a bit tense yesterday when the initial KDMs failed. We went through several bad KDMs before one finally worked on the Harry Potter 7 DCP file in our largest auditorium.

That was a huge relief. We packed our complex to over 50% capacity just on midnight screenings and the last thing we needed was locked DCP files and turning people away from the midnight shows.

I don't know why it was left this late to ready the KDMs though. They should have tried getting them to us last week! Not wait until the final day before release to go into "meltdown".

$32 million in advance is complete madness. That's wonderful.

All 8 of my local theater's midnight shows are completely sold out.

I will see your '8' and raise you...my ENTIRE THEATER. :wow:

All 25 screens will be showing the finale tomorrow night.

The last time they did something like this was their grand opening in 99' when they debuted 'The Phantom Menace' on all screens.

Holy Crap that's a lot Are all of the screens sold out?

25 screens sold out holy crap. I think Potter is going to have a run at TDK's opening weekend.

I couldn't believe it myself...had to ask my friend who works there if it was true and it is.

I just can't fathom that. At A minimum of 2-300 seats per screen, you're talking about (potentially) 7-8,000 people in attendance for the midnight shows.

Will they all be sold out? Can't say but it won't be a stretch to assume that at least half of them will.

Originally Rowling had The Chamber of Secrets written as The Half-Blood Prince. Do you suppose she envisioned a trilogy of novels at that point in time? The idea she spoke of being carried over from book 2 to book 6 was of course the diary as a Horcrux.

Just checked with my theater I work at turns out 5 of our 6 is competly sold out they might add more screens.

I really don't know but I don't think JKR had the entire series planned out until a little later. I would say book 5 she has a definite end point figured out as things seem to be heading towards the end. Voldemort returns at the end of book 4 so I wouldn't think she had everything planned out until book 5. I may be wrong, I really don't know.

Most new authors don't have a trilogy let alone whatever a 7 book series is called with their first book and book 2 only establishes the diary but I really don't think she had that planned to be a horcrux until later. I may not be giving her enough credit.

Crap, they sold in advance what a lot of smaller budget flicks hope to make in their whole run.

When I saw the midnight show of Prisoner of Azkaban, we got to the theater around 11:30 and it didn't seem all that crowded. Then we got inside and found out they'd already filled up 6 of the theaters. I think they filled up at least 2 more after ours. :wow:

Why cant they have a worldwide release? I have to wait until august to see this movie :csad: * walks out of the thread crying*

There's no doubt in my mind that this movie will kill at the box office though :woot:

Not to the midnight showing no. I went on a Friday. Although I like Batman, I am not huge into Batman like I am Potter, Spider-Man, and X-Men.

I remember being so pissed about X3 and SM3. Those almost completely soured midnight movies for me. I think First Class was the first midnight movie besides Harry Potter that I had been to since SM3.

How many of u have bought 9pm Special Show tickets where they show part 1 at 9pm and then show u the 2nd part at midnight
