got the game and score today!

Is the game any good? Usually the movie tie-ins are terrible. I wasn't sure if I should pick this one up, or just wait for the next Lego version (I love those).

Love your review but I just have to ask...

How was the scene when Harry has to leave Hermione and Ron to go die because he knows he has to? They changed this from the book because he never said goodbye to them but in the movie he does. I just like to know how it played out because the snippet in the trailer was heart-breaking when Hermione hugged Harry.

Worked for me.

Worked for me.

LOL, thank you for being as concise and spoiler-free as possible. Also your sentiments about the epilogue is how many Potter fans feel. It was one of the cheesiest things you could ever read, especially their children's names. It's not entirely necessary but after such a long series, I'm glad to see these characters happy and enjoying their lives.

I'll also add why I thought the epilogue was inadvertently hilarious, consider it a spoiler of sorts:

The aging they done on the kids was pretty ordinary. From what I can tell it looks like they aged them by adding in the extra 19 years in the computer but the problem is they didn't do it very well, they still look like 18 year old kids cuddling their young siblings as apposed to their children, none of them had thinning or grey hair, very few wrinkles from what I could tell. It kinda ruined the ending a little bit because it took me out of the movie, the last shot prior to the epilogue is of the three leads and that's where it should have stayed. You know what else was missing? 'THE END' when the film finished, it needed it.

The aging they done on the kids was pretty ordinary. From what I can tell they digitally aged them by either adding in 19 years of aging in the computer, or morphing their heads on to actual 40 year old bodies, but the problem is they didn't do it very well, they still look like 18 year old kids cuddling their young siblings as apposed to their children, none of them had thinning or grey hair, very few wrinkles from what I could tell. Funny you should say that because I believe they had given them a much older look initially. Complete with grey hair, thinning, the whole works. But they reshot the epilogue with different makeup probably because they thought they over did it and didn't want people to bust out laughing. Seeing the photos of how they initially looked 19 years later was even more comical than what your describing.

It's a pretty decent game, not great, but pretty good, and fun - but I'd say this - bewarned. It can be beaten in about 4 1/2 hours - however. There's a challenge mode, and tons of stuff to go back and look for. Worth picking up, or a rental at first to test the waters.

I rented Part I (the video game) before and it sucked. I'm not picking part II up.

I swear, I'm the only one that liked Part 1.

But then again I'm no hardcore gamer and my expectations are just that low. :oldrazz:

Just felt compelled to share this:

So i've taken a CRASH COURSE in Harry Potter the past 3 days...

Here's the jist:

-Not a fan and don't know a THING about the characters and/or overall story.

Last week, my friends told me how they want to see the finale Thursday night and want ME to see it with them. I told them I wasn't into the series as I thought it to be too childish for me. I mean wizards, broomsticks, magic wands? C'mon, i'm 25 years old.

However given how well received the movies are and how much my friends praise them, they convinced me to give it another shot.

So I DVRed the Marathon that played over the weekend and started watching on Sunday afternoon.

How do I feel towards the series today, 3 days later?

I went to my local Best Buy today and BOUGHT EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER ON BLURAY.

...Just last week I was as far away from a HP fan as you can imagine. However, once I finally sat down and actually WATCHED the movies, I realized that well, they're pretty great.

Granted the first two are rather difficult to sit through...not that they're bad, just incredibly dragged out. But once we hit "Prisoner of Azkaban", WOW. :wow:

I just finished up "Order of the Phoenix" tonight and will go on to the final two tomorrow, leading up to the midnight show of the finale.

Originally, I was just going to go with my friends for the sake of the (rumored) TDKR teaser trailer. Now? i'll be going as a HP fan.

LOL thats how i was last year!!!
My friends begged me to watch the series so we could see DH part 1!
Im curious as to what you think of the last couple movies!

ive refreshed myself on hp...watched the series twice all the way through the past 6 days...
gotta say...i still have a personal love for chamber of secrets...but Azkaban is just so awesome...its hard to choose

I wanna read all the books sometime soon

I actually watched Part II first since it was playing on tv at the time...from there I went on to III. Here's how my last 3 days broke down.

Sunday: Chamber of Secrets & Prisoner of Azkaban.
Monday: Sorcerers Stone & Goblet of Fire
Tuesday: Order of the Phoenix

Chamber was a good one, I mean it dragged in some parts but I thought the whole story was interesting.

Prisoner was the first one that I felt had a concrete story to tell. Unlike the first two movies, it didn't seem like it was jumping from place to place and it had a very clear plot.

Sorcerers Stone I mainly watched so I could get the jist of the entire HP universe. I remember when I was watching II and III I would go, "What the heck is a 'muggle'?" and questions like that. So I mainly watched part I to get the basic details like how Harry ended up at Hogwarts, how he met Ron and Hermione, etc.

Goblet of Fire was actually the only movie I had ever seen beforehand in passing and I already knew that I liked the movie. Having finally seeing it in its entirety and within the context of the previous 3 movies, I enjoyed it much more.

Tonight was my first time seeing Phoenix. And I gotta say I was blown away. The story although following a basic formula was really interesting and the whole concept of Harry building up an army to fight Voldemort was great. The final battle at the end? I was in awe. I never ever anticipated this kind of action in a HP movie. Made me realize that this series is definitely not as kid-friendly as I had presumed, lol.

Tomorrow will be Half-Blood Prince and Thursday afternoon, Deathly Hallows Part I.

From what I've seen, these movies just seem to be getting better and better and knowing that its building up to this epic war/battle has me pretty hyped.

i know people dislike half blood prince...but i freakin love it...and i definitely like hearing that you dug the end of phoenix...thats one of my favorite scenes ever!
and i loved DH part 1...the series gets darker and darker...
cant wait to hear how ya like um!

Half-Bood Prince is the 2nd best HP after PoA, but i didn't see DH Part II yet.

Funny, I find HBP to be easily the worst HP film.

You should definitely go back and give the books a shot.

I disagree that the epilogue needed to go. To me, it's an important scene for closure purposes.

I agree. For me so far:

1. POA
2. HBP
3. DH.1
4. OOTP
5. SS
6. GOF
7. COS

I don't really like COS. To me it's the penultimate kiddy book of the series. Good thing POA take a sharp turn into amazing.

I watched POA last night. "Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set?" is my favorite Sirius Black line in any of the movies so far.

That whole scene is just amazing. If you know the history of the characters it adds so much to it.

I always thought the first HP book (SS/PS) was better than the second one (CoS), since the second one just seemed like a total rehash of the first one, minus Harry discovering he's a wizard.

However, the second movie was better than the first in my opinion. It just seemed to flow better and the effects seemed sharper.

The reviews are so good overall right now that every time I see a negative on RT, I just assume that critic is a soulless jerk. Harsh? Yes, but at this point...screw them. :argh:

Has Armond White given his go at it yet?
